Very nice job! Don't worry about the grills, I haven't made any and probably won't. Of course, disregard this suggestion if you have "curious fingers" roaming about. Do you run a sub with yours?
I agree completely with Hank, I've since added an IB sub using a single BP-1804 and Rythmik 350-SE to fill out the bottom end. I don't think you NEED a sub with these speakers for most listening, but having that last octave (or two!) is nice and an IB blends very well with the AV-3 TL design.
Hey those are looking NICE. OH BTW I went ahead and got the Rythmik SE350, it's pretty close to the 40% of RMS figure and Brian goes through and changes some stuff to make it more "audiophile", all in all a pretty nice plate amp and it gets plenty loud enough. Maybe we should start an 1804 cult...
I wouldn't say useless, but pics would be nice. Rory, great selection using the Flecktones for music evaluation, their music is always changing and very dynamic with great lows here and there. Do you have Victor's A Show of Hands? Excellent for focusing on your sub crossover to your...
Here's some pics, still not finished. http://gallery.avsforum.com/showphot...sort=1&cat=507 http://gallery.avsforum.com/showphot...&cat=507&page= http://gallery.avsforum.com/showphot...&cat=507&page=

I'd love to hear it, but I live in Clarkston in the SE corner of the state, maybe next time I'm in Seattle though that'd be great. So with your subs extension, have you found ANY material with 10hz content?

OK, right now I'm using an OEM plate amp scavenged from another sub, about 200w max with a big hump at 30hz and a rumble filter below that as it was an amplifier from a ported sub. I'm thinking about the Rythmik 350se (380w rms 4ohms). The only location that would work for me is slightly behind...

Well I decided on the 1804 after reading about yours, so I figured you should get the props. Actually, ThomasW should get extreme props for educating us nuts on the seemed pinnacle of sub-bass frequency reproduction. Anyway, how drastic was the EQ'ing on your setup?

OK, James, I started it. I noticed in the HTT thread you seem to have an insatiable desire for LOUD accurate bass. How specifically does the IB compare to some of your other subs?

Hey James, this is way off topic, but are you still happy with your IB setup? After reading the thread on HTT I bought one 1804 and IB'd it and I love it so far. I need to get a bigger amp and then I'll do some detailed frequency graphing as my current one has the 30hz boost and steep roll-off...

That looks close to ideal, the only improvement would be to locate it between your mains.......but it's certainly better than my location and mine sounds great. Where does the backwave vent to, the rest of the basement? The one issue with IB's that I've encountered is the tendency to cause more...

Oh, BTW, have you seen this thread? There's some pics of his on the IB cult site, but this thread goes into some good detail, especially how his IB goes louder than any sub he's had (servo-drive included) AND sounds better. Don't miss the SPL #'s at the end.
I don't have any spl numbers yet because I don't have enough power going to it, about 200w. I'm probably going to get the Rythmik 380se as that seems to be a good amount according to some excursion sims and then see if I need the BFD. My installation is definitly not optimal, off to the left and...
I havn't tried mine any other way than IB, but it sounds soooooooo good I don't think I need to. BTW I only have one in a 2000cuft room and it's PLENTY! How big is your theater going to be? Those rabbits look petrified.(':D')

Both of those movies are great for LFE (good flicks, too), I was watching some scenes from Titan AE yesterday until I heard vigorous stomping above me. My wife's web design home office is right above the theater/music/drum room and stuff was falling off her desk from the 1804! Doghouse time.
