Thanks!! I just tried this. I set the subwoofer as high as it would go on the receiver and turned the volume on it down and watched the same scene on a dvd that it was happening and it didn't shut off. I hope that takes care of the problem for good!! Thanks again!!

Can anyone tell me why my subwoofer only stays on when the volume on the receiver is way up. I have had a lot of problems with this subwoofer turning off and on but have found out that if you turn the volume up it will stay on but it is very loud and not comfortable to listen to. Please help!!

The bass on the receiver which goes from-10to 10 is set at 0 That is the only setting I have for bass. Also on the receiver I have a subwoofer yes or no setting and it is set at yes. I don't have many choices on the receiver period.

I used two cables to get a long enough extension. By delay I meant that when there are no bass sounds it shuts off but not till there are none for a period of time. Thanks for all your help!!

I'm not sure what you mean by a mini system. It was connected with the cable that came with it but I had to buy another one to connect to reach the other side of the room. I used RCA cables. Could it be because I had to use two?? According to JVC tech one told me there is no delay and the other...

Could there be a setting on the receiver that I have missed??

I checked the back and there is no switch. And yes it does switch back and forth rapidly. It will switch off and on 5 times in a minute.

Could you please tell me where this setting could be?? I have checked everything I can think of but have never come across a always on switch.
