Looking at the back panel of the 1400 and the 5790, I cant tell any differences. It even has pre-outs unlike the 5590, the 1300 did have them. And looks like the new 5790 also has detachable power cord like the 1400.
There is the new Yamaha HTR 5790, replacement for the HTR 5590 or the RX-V1300. I havent compared it to the new RX-V1400, front faceplate looks more like the 5760. http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/HTIB/HTR-5790.htm Bestbuy has them on sale on their website for full MSRP. I would...
I have a 2300 and my wife spilled some lemonade on the remote. Its all sticky, I have cleaned everything in the crevices, but one button, the TV volume up button gets stuck up but functions fine. How do I clean this from the inside ? Thx
I lean more toward video than audio, of course I was never into 2 channel audio, because I started with HT. I think I have better eyes than ears. I easily get amazed by PQ more than sound. I can notice subtle differences in PQ, while with sound all that subtlety is not as easily percievable for me.
Panny has different settings for HD and SD sources, so you will have to do convergence seperately for each source. And for SD source there is a different convergence setting for the zoom mode as well. What I suggest is use a DVD player to one of the component inputs and do the convergence...
Alignment he is talking about is called Convergence, which has to be done to all CRT based RPTVs. This adjusment can be done by consumer in the user or service menu. Panny RPTV shines after calibrating it. It has pretty good PQ. I dont have extended warranty on my Panny. I dont think I...
Chu and everyone, what do you guys think of this cable design ? :) http://www.analysis-plus.com/Pages/thedesign.htm
Isnt that what Bose does, gives you what you think sounds good.
I would go with 5590 which is equivalent of last years RX-V1300. Nice power, plenty of features. I like the sound of Yamaha over Denon, Denons didnt sound as clean as Yamaha. I bought Yamaha RX-V2300 over Denon 3803.
Cost effective ???? More expensive cables should NOT have copper in them because its cheap. May be silver is a good idea. And if you didnt know, they do you use aluminum alloys in circuits eg: for power applications. BTW I was joking about the superconductor. Lemon and superconductor, what...
16x9 is the format for HD broadcast and thats why HDTVs are 16x9 and not for any particular aspect ratio of a movie on DVD. Movies comes with different flavors of aspect ratio because of directors choice. So viewers have no choice but to watch what was intended. I would definitely not think...
Copper is not the best conductor out there. Superconductors should be used at cryo temperatures in your HT. That will give you the best performance possible. If anyone has ever seen any PCB, what material/alloy is the solder, is it OHFC copper ? NO. I dont understand how sonic signature...
Calibrate to any video setting with color temperature set to normal. Calibration will change the video setting and be saved with new color, picture, brightness, tint etc.
I dont even know how wine even got started in this thread. Wine taste and cables ??? Hmmm. If that analogy is true, that implies that cables color the sound. And is that what audiophiles dont want, no they want pure unadulterated sound. As it was meant to be heard, just perfect.
I dont know how...
