I got my 57HDX82 about 3 weeks ago, check for a hiss at low lolume levels. If it's there call Toshiba and let them know, they call you back and help you find a local service center to come out and solder on a capacitator. Did the trick for mine, the sound in general is much better now.
Ok, Thanks! I am useing an Xbox now but planning on buying a Dvd player soon, I figured if my Tv was'nt progressive scan, why buy a proggressive scan dvd player.
OK, I just called Toshiba back, They know about a problem and are working on a fix. They said they would call back when they have a solution. I suggest everyone that has this problem call and give them your contact information. 800-631-3811 I'd call them every couple weeks to check in.
:angry: I have a new tosh 57HDX82 with the hiss. The guy from Tosh (1-800-631-3811) told me to reset the unit by unpluging it for 30 minutes. I tried that, no better.

Well, I took the 57H81 back they did'nt have an 57H82 in stock so I went to Amarican TV. I bought a 57HDX82 fo $5.00 less then the 57H81. MUCH better picture, and DVI ready. Thanks again!
I bought a 57H81 and I can exchange it for a 57H82, should I? From what I've read here the 82 model is upgradeable to DVI. Are there any other important differences? Also there is a Bose speaker system for $399 at BB is it any good? Thanks
