    Jak and Daxter 2

One reason I loved the first one is the "lighter" tone. The shift to the "darker" tone makes it a "to-rent" first for me.

    Dr. Muto-Anyone Played it?

I rented the game and and I loved it. I bought it and I'm roughly 60% thru it. I think it is one of those underated games. It is very original and the level design if very "fresh". Difficulty is just about right. I own the Xbox version which has Dolby 5.1 support (even though there is...

Does Blockbuster still offer the games freedom pass?

Hollywood Videos has a $19.99 monthly subscription where you can rent anything in the store (dvds, games, vhs, ...). Limitation is maximum of 2 at a time. Requires credit card and is renewable unless you cancel in advance. I've been using it for the last 2 months and it's great. Selection of...

    480P How do you know.

Usually, there is an option on the TV which tells you what kind of a signal the current input is showing. On my Mits. 55807, it's called simply 'Info'. When I select it (on the remote), I get either 480i, 480p, or 1080i (Mist. doesn't support 720p).

I have realized something: I suck at Tony Hawk 4

You're not alone Chris. I rented THPS4 (Xbox) and as hard as I've tried, I cannot get beyond the college level. I'm not buying it - which is good this way since I can go back and finish THPS3!!!

    I can't get NBA 2K3 to run 720P

Make sure that you have the 720P setting in the Xbox dashboard set on 'Yes'. Also make sure that the Xbox is connected to the DTV input on your projector (not the 480p component connection). If the projector supports natively this resolution and can upgrade it to 1080i then it should work.

I think I'm buying an XBOX soon. What games should I get to start me off?

In addition to Halo, the most addictive game on the Xbox for me was (and is) Project Gotham. So if you're into racing, that'll be the one. In addtion to PGR, I recommend the following (which all I have - so I'm putting my ...): Jet Set Radio Future, Rallisport (another rally racing), NFl...

    AAA XBox titles...where are they?

In terms of exclusive AAA title, I think that the Xbox is in a better position than the other 2 consoles. Obviously, tastes vary but personaly I can see that I need at least $500 (and quit my job) to buy and find time to play any of the following Xbox exclusive titles: Blinx, Brute Force...

    Waaaah....I want my Buffy!

Among all the Xbox games, Oddworld is the ultimate example for "Save anywhere anytime". It is perfect and I loved it. It's among the few games I finished.

Anyone interested in Street Hoops (XBox or PS2)?

Chris -- I rented Street Hoops yesterday to test its 720p support. I have a Mitsubishi which doesn't support 720p. When I set the XBOX to 'yes' for 720p, I'll get nothing (blue screen). Setting '720p' to 'No' makes the XBox down-sample - so I'll end up with 480p!! There are really few...

    Is Project Gotham in 16x9?

While racing, clicking 'start' gets you some options. One of them is "Camera" which you could set to 'wide'. That gives a wider view but is not a true 16x9.

Madden 2003 or NFL 2k3? Any reviews?

quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...and the same reviewer that gave NFL2k3 9.1s on GCN and XBOX, gives the PS2 version a 9.6! I think their excuse for that is they are reviewing the games compared to what they think the console is...

    Buying Xbox games online

There isn't much discounting when it comes to video games. The only site that I know of is www.gogamer.com which sells the games at $47.47 (instead of the typical $49.99). They don't have free shipping but they have always interesting specials - this week they're having UFC Tapout for $35.

Gamespot download manager may use your machine as a server

When I was going to download a game video demo from Gamespot, I was prompted to accept the license for their download manager "powered by Kontiki". Out of curiousity this time, I decided on reading, and guess what - bullet 3 says: "You understand that Content will be stored on your personal...

    NFL Fever 2003 is Widescreen

I was browsing at Software Etc and they had the box for the upcoming NFL Fever 2003. On the back, it had very interesting labeling scheme: # players, HDTV, WideScreen, XBOX Live, and some others (almost 10-12 labels). I hope this is the standard Microsoft will force on the other publishers...
