I don't particularly like the styling of the Athena Audition series. Is there another manufacturer with similar quality and pricing that I can look at? I already know about Axiom, but I was wondering if there is anyone else.
I had these, the volume levels not bad for their size. It can get fairly loud in my room. But the bass is pretty crappy. The sats start rolling off at 120Hz and the sub seems a bit muffled to me. Plus the sub doesn't go that low either. I think it only has an 8" driver.
God, I hate roadrunner. Been down and it's very awkward to get Internet access now. Scott, I read your PM, I'll get back to you soon. For everyone else, I found the original receipt if you're still interested.
Whoops, sorry for the long response. Lost my Internet connection at home and took A LONG time to get it back. I'll look for the receipt, I'm pretty sure I still have it. And I'm not interested in trading for the DVD recorder.
I'm looking to sell my sub. It's a little over one year old. I don't have the original box so I doubt I can ship it. I currently live in Manhattan and would prefer to have someone pick it up. I'm asking for $400.
I'm looking to sell my 25-31PCi sub. It's a little over 1 year old and I think it's in very good condition. I could take pictures if you want. I'm not looking to ship it (don't have original box) so I'd prefer if you can pick it up. I live in lower manhattan so maybe it's not too long a trip...
I've been telling the wife to hold off watching DVD's until I get the new sub. This was two weeks ago. Sigh, now she just thinks I'm delusional and doesn't want to spend anytime watching movies with her. Guess I'll spend another weekend measuring out the space for the sub (again).
Order #2932
I'm actually in a similar situation and would like some advice also. I'm planning to buy either a 25-31PCi or 20-39PCi soon.
I know that the two are more alike than different, but I want to know how the two differ at 20hz?
If I'm listening at -20db below reference, will the 20-39 be more...
I've been calibrating my speakers using VE, AVIA, S&V Home Theater Tuneup, and the Denon 1802's test tones for the past 2 months.
This is what I've found with my RS meter.
With both VE and Avia, I ended up getting the same values for my speakers.
When using the built in test tones, I've...
Yes, when you listen to movies, 105db is plenty loud. It would probably even be louder than your local movie theater. Definitely not recommended if you value your hearing. Personally, I have the 1802 and listen between -15 and -30 on the volume control.
I already have a PC for gaming. I was just thinking of the wow factor when friends come over. I'm getting tired of them extolling the virtues of PS2/GC/XBOX over the PC. If I could put up a 1024x768 resolution with surround sound game on a big screen, I'd never hear from them again.
Then...
I've noticed that a lot of people here have been using the Radeon as their display card for HTPC.
Are there any other brands out there that perform as well? My feeling is that I would prefer a card that performs well in 3d gaming (a la Nvidia) and has the same quality as the Radeon.
Why is...
