I saw that same ad and wondered the same thing. I didn't buy the set and probably won't due to my initial knee-jerk reaction of "what's an Apex?" but who knows?
It's not too expensive though, might be worth a try as long as you can return it if it turns out to be a crummy set.

I recently got into DVD and have some questions concerning widescreen playback on a 4:3 TV. (please bear with me, I'm definitely a newbie).
I've watched movies on a friend's Toshiba 1700. It felt like the widescreen (default) view looked like it wasn't showing the entire screen...
