Thought I'd bump this thread, since this supposedly is out now. Is anyone having trouble finding this in stores? I checked BB, CC, and Borders in my area and none have it. They all list it as special order. What gives? Is there no love for this movie? Does anyone know what happened to this release?

I have to agree about the sound on this DVD. It sounds exactly like my widescreeen VHS. But I'm a little confused. Was this movie ever in stereo surround to begin with? The end credits do not have the usual Dolby logo at all and say nothing about the sound system used. I had read somewhere...

Definitely The Uptown Theater in NW DC on Connecticut Ave. Best theater in the area. Nice HUGE screen and terrific sound. Was built in the 30's, I think, but was renovated in 1996 for the re-release of Vertigo. The Two Towers just rocked in this place.
