My 2 cents... Case: It seems the case only accepts 80mm fans, so it might be hard to make it really quiet. Also with the small dimensions it is going to be a limiting factor if you aim for a decently quiet HTPC. Mobo: You might consider looking for a mobo with a newer chipset, apparently...
You could install a keylogger of some kind, these are sometimes configurable to take a screenshot at a desired intervall (like every 5 min). This will generate a log allowing you to monitor which sites he has visited and what he has typed at those sites along with a time-stamp, as well as the...
First thing that comes to mind? OK, here goes... France - Baguettes and red wine. Scotland - Whiskey and a truly beautiful countryside. America - Vast uninhabited areas and a majestic nature. Italy - Lively people, historically interesting. Spain - Beaches and culture (odd combination..)...
You may experience a rather short lifespan of the relay - due to the amps having large transformers (i.e. an inductive load). What I would do is look for relays rated for both resistive and inductive loads, for example the rating might look something like this; 120V~/15(6)A. Which basically...
Hi, fellow Swede (not the vegetable though ;) )
I don't know whether or not the amps deleivered along with the subs have a voltage switch, but you could always order the amp (if you want a Samson) from Ljudia, or buy it elsewhere in Sweden - that way you would know you got the correct voltage...
The symbols you are referring to usually (in the world of electronics, specifically on DMM:s) mean the following:
- pure DC
~ AC and DC
-
~ pure AC
Hope it helps.

Welcome to the forum Daniel.
I've checked the Link Removed for the AVR5000, and if I'm not mistaken you could add an active filter (between Main Out and Main In) and attach a second subwoofer to the filters LP Out (and of course the filters HP Out goes back to Main In), thus cutting your mains...
Yamaha DSP-A5 in the HT.
Luxman F-105 + Piooneer A-400X in the bedroom, the Luxman is an old Dolby Surround unit (not even ProLogic),it seems I have a problem getting rid of stuff, I simply can't make myself do it... :)
1. I currently use 3 computers, but I'm giving one away.
The two remaining are as follows:

Computer 2.

Not sure of it's sound and graphics card.

Rich:
I think the Xmax is something like 15 mm (total), and
Sd = 0,076 m2, that ought to give a displacement volume
of approx. 1,15 dm3 (times two, of course).
That sure doesn't sound much to me, is this ridiculously small ?
Mark:
That's a good tip, I'll just use my current sub in...
Thanks for the response, there always seems to be at least a couple of the members here who have already tried whatever I come up with :)
Mark: I'm thinking of removing a couple of walls, so as to get an open staircase - as it is now it really annoys me.
With that done I think the room volume...
Hi!
I'm planning to build an IB for my HT, in the house that I'm moving to (my fiancée is coming along aswell, but is not allowed to voice her opinion on the matter ;)).
What I don't know is whether or not 2x15" subwoofers in an IB-setup will be enough. The IB will be placed upstairs, with...
I always thought that the buttons on womens clothing were on the other side (compared to gents clothing) becuase of the way people used to sit in church (each sex had it's own side. Women to the left and gents to the right)- that way the opposite sexes would not get inappropriate glimpses of...
Must have been this summer, in my cousins Audi S2 (330 hp engine. Yes, it has been modified).
He was trying to scare his girlfriend (and mine too), unfortunately she just got angry :)
Any how, the speed was approx 275 kph (I think that equals approx. 170 mph).
What a rush!
We were still...
Hmmm.. Let me think.
Apart from some of those already mentioned I like the scene in "Hot Shots! Part Deux!" (I think) where Charlie Sheen is in a fight, in the end Charlie kicks the other guy's nuts which come out of his mouth, whereupon he (in a high pitched voice) says "You win!".
Maybe not...
Vince; You've probably got a point there, the amp I'm using is an older model without a switch, but I'll have a look inside and see if I can find anything that looks promising.
The reason I have an older model is becuase it was a lot cheaper (second hand), it also lacked cooling fans which I...
Thanx for the reply.
The amp I'm using is a Link Removed , which none of you have probably heard of it's swedish built with a rather good renommée. According to the manufacturer it has a frequency response of 10Hz-50kHz. I've tried adjusting the gain, but it sounds like the input level is way...
Hi!
Anyone tried connecting a Pro level amp. to their LFE output to power a subwoofer ?
I tried it and hardly any sound came out of the sub, after searching the net for a while it seems the signal levels are not compatible (consumer -10 dB, pro +4 dB).
Would this be possible to solve by...
Thank you very much for your inputs, having read through your opinions I realize I'll have to go to a dealer and check it out regarding size and screen before making my decision.

Hi,
I'm wondering whether or not anyone here has used the Sony RM-AV2100 ?
Is it any good ?
I'd appreciate it if someone who has used it can give me a brief rundown of it's pros and cons.
I want to use to control a TV-set, VCR, DVD and Receiver.
I know I could probably use a non-LCD remote...
Hmmm.. Let's see...
If I remember correctly my first setup was simply to run a cable from the VCR (an early JVC-model, top-loaded with a cable-remote, if I remember correctly) to my Technics SA-GX100L receiver.
Step 2 (1994 ?); I bought a second-hand Luxman F-105 Dolby Surround Processor, and...
You can always build your own, there are some good projects if you follow this link http://sound.westhost.com/projects.htm

Thanks for the feedback, always a lot of helpful folks around it seems. :)
Ron: I'm not sure, it depends on his job - but he thinks it will be during okt/nov.
Q: Do you ship SVS-subs to Europe (read Sweden) ?
He reckons it will be hard to take them with him on the plane back - I wonder why...
Hi guys!
I'm hoping you can answer a question for a friend of mine.
He's going to the US (LA-area), and he would like to listen to a SVS-sub (he is thinking of buying one but he would like to listen to it first).
Are there any shops that keep them in store, or demo them ?
Thanx in advance...
Dang!
I managed to post in the wrong forum - just plain stupid if you ask me - hopefully one of the moderators will move it to the hardware section.
