If you're interested, here is a great article from the PS Audio site discussing the history of digital amplication and their current design. BTW, I have the HCA-2 and could not be happier. It makes my 804s sound amazing.

I've got both the P-3A and the P-1A in my system (ref 30 pre/pro, but I've also got B&W N804s) and I love them. They definitely added more depth to my 2 channel listening and make the 804s sing. I checked on the website and they still have their 30 day in home trial so you might as well give it...
Hi Rich, Sorry for the delay but I was off my computer for a while. Anyway, yes, I am still using the B&K to power to the center and surround channels. It's been no problem using the 2 different amps. I barely had to recalibrate the levels. Of course, PS Audio is going to introduce a 3-channel...
Check out the PS Audio HCA-2 2 channel amp. I was using a B&K Ref 7250 to power all of my B&W speakers, but I wanted a seperate 2 channel amp for the mains. I could not be happier with it. It sounds incredible! Also, it just picked up a Class A Recommended Component knod from Stereophile. There...
hmmmmm. I'll have to talk to my dealer and figure out why I haven't been notified about the newer upgrades. Where does one find out about these things? Cheers, Brian
Manny, the current software version for the ref 30 is 2.05. Apparently B&K plans on unveiling it's new ref 50 (and possibly upgrades for the 30) at the CEDIA show at the end of the month. Guess we'll have to wait until then. Cheers, Brian ps. the was recently a thread on the ref 50 that...
I don't know if it important to you, but I noticed on the M&K website that the S-150P's have balanced XLR inputs as well as RCA. You may want to look for a pre/pro with balanced outputs to take advantage of this. BTW, I have the B&K Ref 30 and couldn't be happier (don't really care about...
Lee, I don't think I could have described the Stereo Exchange experience more perfectly!
BTW, here are the websites for Singer and Innovative:

Cheers, Brian
Big thumbs up for Innovative (where I picked up my B&W's) and Singer (where I got my B&K gear). You may be tempted to stop by Stereo Exchange at Broadway and Houston, but don't bother. I've never had a good experience there. Cheers, Brian
I don't know if the reasons are the same in the movie business (I suspect they are not), but I can tell you why we hate people breaking street dates in the publishing industry (I work for a house in NYC). Actually, it is 2 reasons, 1. Reporting to the NYT, USA Today, etc..Whenever people sell a...
Felix, You shouldn't be worried at all about driving the speakers too loud with 120 watts/channel. Both the HTM2 and the N805s are rated to handle up to 120 watts, 200 watts for the N804. I'm pretty sure that it would be way too loud for you before you ever came close to pumping out the full 120...
Felix, Congrats on the delivery of the new speakers. I'm sure that you will come to love them even more over time as they break-in. Not to sway you towards picking up the HTM1 (I have the HTM2 and have no complaints), but I thought you might enjoy this review of a complete Nautilus home theater...
Thanks Philip! Sorry about the website, I've been meaning to update it for quite some time now, but it seems that I don't spend as much time at my home computer on summer weekends ;) Perhaps I'll dodge some of the outdoor bars this weekend and update the page so you can see the way it looks now...
Kevin, You should also look into the Classe integrated amps. I've heard nothing but good things and they are supposed to match up with B&W speakers quite well (I believe that B&W just acquired them, but I may be wrong). I think the CAP-151 is comparable in price/power to the Krell KAV300i. They...
I put the spikes on my B&W 804s then put a 12"X12" slab of marble (about $4/ea at Home Depot) under each of them. Works great and I really like the way it looks. Cheers, Brian almost forgot, I put some of those felt pads under the marble as well.
If you are interested in more PS Audio forum discussions then try here as well. I can't say enough good things about their customer service and the quality of their products. Plus, Paul (the head of the company) regularly posts on the above forum as well as the one on the PS Audio site. Can't...
Felix, Congrats as well on your new setup! I have the exact same one (save for SCM1s, which are just flattened 805s, in the rear for space issues). I think the difference between the B&Ws and your current speakers will blow you away. As for power, I don't think that you need a whole hell of a...
etsoi, I just noticed that someone has put a new B&K ref 30 & 7270 amp combo up on Audiogon for $3900US. It might be worth investigating. Cheers, Brian
Hi Aaron. I've been running a B&K 7250 with five B&W speakers (804 mains, htm2 center, SCM surrounds) and I've had absolutely no problem driving them to insanely loud levels, so I wouldn't worry about the B&K not being able to handle the Nautilus line if you are interested in them. In fact, I...
Brett, Here is the latest news I can find on B&K upgrades. They are notoriously bad at keeping their customers informed about future products. Hope it helps:

B&K Ref 30 Love: amazing with 2 channel music, all the sound processing modes I can use (can't swing more than 5.1 in my apartment), infinite customizing options, good price Hate: acts as a mini space heater (more of a summer concern), horrible customer service and website (good luck...
Jim, You should give a listen/look to the new Hybrid Digital amp from PS Audio. I just received mine to use for 2 channel music and it pairs up beautifully with my Nautilus 804s. I couldn't be happier. Plus, you get a 30 return option and amazing customer support and a great price!
Here are...
Just thought you guys might be interested in this review of the PS Audio HCA-2 digital hybrid amp. I just ordered one myself to improve 2-channel audio. This review makes me think that I made a very wise decision:

Thank you both for the help. I've been e-mailing back and forth with someone at Audio One and they're going to make me a deal for two CA101s. They're not in stock but they will ship them to my apartment for a good deal. Can't wait to pair those up with my 804s!
Cheers, Brian
Thanks for the link Martin. I sent them an e-mail asking for a price quote on the CA-101 and CA-201. If I hear back from them and the price on the CA-101 is good enough, I think I will pick up two of them and bridge them for mono, one for each speaker.
Cheers, Brian
Hello all. My hatred of flying, combined with the weather forecast has convinced me to drive to an upcoming business meeting near Toronto (Jackson's Point, Ontario to be exact). I figured that since I will have my car up there I should take advantage of the exchange rate, Canadian manufacturer...
I'm currently using a B&K 7250 to power my 804s, along with a HTM2 and SCM1 surrounds, and I am quite happy with the pairing. That being said, I am still curious about the added benefits of having a separate 2-channel amp for the mains when I listen to music. Classe amps are supposed to be...
