Adire Dharman test results from Tom Nousaine...

Jack, to make you feel better, I did click on that link. Took me a while to get through it... :-) Jerry, from the numbers above, if you're looking at the DUAL 20-39CS, then that package beats out the single lonely Dharman. But the numbers on the SINGLE Dharman looks better than the SINGLE...

Decisions? nOrh LeAmp vs Marantz MA500

I agree with Tyson. But Tyson only heard the stock LeAmp. I've heard both the stock LeAmp and the LeAmp without the DC blocking capacitor. There's no comparison between the two. The modded LeAmp is in a different league, IMHO. The next batch of LeAmp will not have the DC blocking capacitor...

nOrh's and/or Ascend Acoustics in Columbus?

Eric, you may want to post your question at www.harmonicdiscord.com. There's a nOrh forum there.

nOrh owners please read! I have questions!!

Hi Adam, I think Tyson gave you pretty good advice. The only concern I would have for rear speakers is how much room do you have for rear placement? Will the rear speakers be on stands or wall mounted? If the answer is that the you have room for rear placement, I'd go with the ceramic/marble...

    ATI Amps?

I owned the AT1505 briefly. I originally bought it for HT. I agree with Anthony. It's adequate for HT duty, not spectacular. It's nothing special for music. I have sold it since.

show pics of your Norh set-ups

John, nice setup. Can't comment on your TV... cuz mine is even worse. Of course, it's work in progress as well. Gruson - Brian, Ryan, Jeff and myself are getting together this Saturday morning. Email me if you'd like to join us. If the date/time is not convenient, we can hook up at...

Hi Brian, I remember that I still owe you a SVS demo. Since then, I've moved as mentioned and have settled in a bit. Maybe it's time we hook up. I'd like to get Ryan Schnacke to come by too.

Any Nohr owners in the SF Bay Area willing to give a demo?

Scott, the nOrh 4.0 coupled with the SVS will sound HUGE. You'll forget that they're little speakers. I know since I own both. They integrate seamlessly. As John mentioned, check over at www.harmonicdiscord.com. That's the place to be for nOrh related questions. Lots of nOrh owners hang...

Just got my HTD Level III bookshelves...

Did you check the review for these at cheaphometheater.com. I think they reviewed the floor standers and gave them high marks. They also compared them to the nOrh 4.0. A friend of mine has these. About his best remark was the finish on the speakers. (He's a Vandersteen fan) He ended up...

She finds the SVS after 11 days.

Hehehe... this is a hilarious thread... oh well, let's rub it in... :) My wife finally gave in and allowed me a $2K budget for a new TV. Well, after searching around, I found one I like. The bad news... it's ~$5K. :) So instead of insisting on it, I took her see a "similar" model that's...

A couple of nOrh 4.0 questions

Steve, I'm currently powering the 4.0 with a Yamaha 995. I have a 4000 sqft room and have no problem cranking up the volume to deafening level without any hint of compression. These "little" guys can play really loud. For any speaker, you can always improve the sound (to a certain degree)...

Corner cabinet to hide the SVS?

Mike, a "top-less" cabinet would take care of the vibration problem, wouldn't it? Then, the cabinet will just be like a screen/room divider with doors. What do you think? Any drawback in that? The reason I'm looking to do this is because of consideration for the SO. :) I like the room...

Corner cabinet to hide the SVS?

I'm thinking of building a corner cabinet to hide my twin SVS 20-39. It'll look like a armoire without feet. Just sits directly on the floor. When I use it, I can just open the slide-in doors to expose the SVS. The cabinet will have some 6-inch clearance for the top-port. When not in use, I...

Home Theatre from Scratch, any suggestions?

Ryan, nOrh doesn't sell SVS. :-) For the SVS subwoofer, the website is www.svsubwoofers.com.

Cheap Home Theater review of nOrh 4.0's is up - one question though. . .

"Hehe, I figured we'd see a 3-page thread just like this one when I read the review." This ain't nothing! Wait till the shootout comes out. Then you'd probably see nOrh, Divas, HTD, Ascend (etc) worshippers take up arms and come out in force. From the look of this, it seems like some (of us)...

Cheap Home Theater review of nOrh 4.0's is up - one question though. . .

Joel, TWO THUMBS UP on the review. I agree with what you said about the ceramic 4.0. The look is a love it or hate it proposition. I used to get a pair of ceramic nOrh. I'm ok with the look, except the SO. (Just like you mentioned in your review) I ended up bringing home the marble...

nOrh 5.1 evaluated next to Dynaudio Contour 1.8 MkII

As good as the wood nOrhs are, the ceramic, synthetic marble, marble are even better. It's amazing what an inert cabinet will do to the sound. But come to think of it, it just makes sense. Now, you can find out if anyone around your area has those or you can take the plunge. At least this...

Just Curious...who bought SVS because of this forum

Well, I first heard of SVS on audioreview.com. Then found my way over here. So, both forums should get the credit. :-)
