    HDMI Cable Rec please!

Thanks gents appreciate it. With the refresh rate listed at 4k/120hz for the TV and receiver, wouldn't a 4k@60hz cable be less than ideal?

    HDMI Cable Rec please!

I have an incoming LG CX and Denon S960H and could use a HDMI cable recommendation please! I don't want to break the bank but don't want to go el-cheapo for an inferior product either. From what I understand i would need cables rated for 2.1, 120hz and eARC..?

    Cable & off-air signal distribution..confused

Getting ready to buy a RF Video Distribution module for my SMC, and have a bit of a question. Based on my research, I tentatively plan on using a Leviton 3x8 distribution module. Input to the distributor will be the cable feed, an off-air antenna, and a modulated input. If I understand...

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

I also found a nice 'how-to' on the subject and ran it through the scanner - hope someone finds it useful! Click here.

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

I decided not to do this in the area that i had in mind, but love the effect and hope to use it sometime..came across a couple more pics of the effect:

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

Another idea i ran across (scuse the poor paint skills!): Attach a 'wedge' (in red) between the moulding (green) and the wall (black), then lay the rope lighting (yellow) upon the wedge. The wedge will provide an extra securing point for the moulding and a place to lay the rope lighting.

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

i'll be working with the trey ceiling, which 'protrudes' up into the attic, so i'll just be placing a small hole somewhere behind the moulding, and feeding 110 to it through the attic.

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

Thanks and very nice Eric! And I'm back from the desert..nice to be back into civilization once again! Let the planning commence! Doing a little research today, I discovered Cove Lighting which is I guess the effect we're talking about. Pegasus Associates version of cove lighting consists...

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

thanks again! I almost want to get to work right now, but again, still in the planning stages - that coupled with the fact that i'm headed to iraq tomorrow (im in the army) gives me plenty of time to think and plan :) I'm sure i'll be resurrecting this thread sometime in Feb/March when i...

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

good find steve..cool stuff. Without looking into it to extensively, i wonder if that stuff can be dim-mable? Heck being as thin as it is, that would make the 'gap' less discernable for sure..ill look into it more for sure. Thanks! Mike..as you mentioned, im sure the gap is less discernable...

I really jumped into it today!

bitter sweet congratulations for sure :) enjoy!

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

yeah guess i should clarify...im wondering about molding that is perhaps 'pre-cut' for rope lighting or something of the sort - i suppose like a gutter as you explained Tom..thanks. Steve - looked around for the 'glow tape' that you mentioned with no avail...you say it's electrical? Perhaps...

    Rope lighting 'within' moulding?

I was considering some rope lighting that would 'outline' the 'top rectangle' of my trey ceiling (the red line in the pic). Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't there moulding that 'incorporates' a space for rope lighting that would allow me to get the desired effect? Or if not, how might i go...

arrgh! im in the market for a new dvd player as well, and of course the mitsu that i just purchased doesn't have a DVI input, which if i understand correctly is needed to recieve the upconverted signal. Hmmm. I've got a bunch of firewire inputs however. *goes searching for a DVI to Firewire...

    Confused with playback of Anamorphic

Will/does HD give filmakers the flexibility to shoot in different ratios as well?

    Confused with playback of Anamorphic

aha! things might finally be making way through my thick skull - thx. You'd think the format in which movies are shot would be standardized to alleviate all this.

    Confused with playback of Anamorphic

i popped in Saving Private Ryan, which according to the cover, is 1.85:1. It fills up my entire screen with no banding whatsoever. If my 16x9 displays 1.78:1 'natively' persay, shouldn't there be banding while viewing a 1.85, as there is with 2.35, etc?

oops..a little mistake using DVD profiler

lol..id imagine theres a title out there that parodies 'Driving Miss Daisy' as well, but i won't go there
