1 pair B&W 705s - Rosenut 1 pair B&W 602 s2 - Cherry 1 B&W LCR6 Center - Black 705s are mint, only 8months old and around 300hrs of use. 602s used as surrounds only for several years. LCR6 same as 602s except it only comes in black. All speakers are in superb condition. Have packaging...
Hi all, Think my last post was two years ago, lol. Anyhoo, it maybe just the right time for me to upgrade my SvSs again. :) I live in Vancouver and about 4yrs ago i ordered my first pair of 20-39CSs #81 and #82. These puppies were all i need in my 12X18 room with opening until SVS offered...
Hi All,
I live in Canada and I just received my dual SVS 16-46CS+ earlier today and will be playing with it tomorrow. FYI, I had sold my dual SVS 20-39cs so I can upgrade to the PLUS. I am definately in the SVS camp.
I enjoy watching movies at reference lvls unlike the rest of my family. ;)...
SVS PCs have limiters on them so you cannot bottom the sub. On the other hand, the CS+ have no limiters and therefore can be overdriven.
I've missed my SVS CS+ deliveries twice, I hope I'll get them tomorrow. When I do, I'll post my findings between dual 16-46cs+ and dual 20-39cs.
Jerry
Hi Aaron,
I have a very similar setup as yours.
4 B&W 602s2 Fronts and Rear
1 B&W LCR6 Center
Room is 1728^3 ft
I had a B&W ASW1000 and upgrade to 2 SVS 20-39cs and there's no comparison. Even a single 20-39 would be no match for the B&W.
I've just upgraded to 2 SVS 16-49cs+.
I...
Got my shipping confirmation.
Im in Canada so, the subs might be a week away.
You Vancouverites are so lucky that the rain has melted most of the snow. Otherwise I could have started an avalanche right in the city!
Then again, Whistler isnt THAT far away.:D
Jerry
Glen,
The 20-39s with port plugs are impressive but you left out the numbers for the 16-46s with port plugs.
13Hz - 1 port plug
10Hz - 2 port plugs
Oh yeah! Come to the Dark Side!
;)
Jerry
Rajee,
Go for the 16-46s, I know you'll lose a few dbs up top compared to the 20-39s, but I think you'll be hard pressed to hear a difference.
Think of watching the Phantom Menace, Haunting and U571 at reference levels and get the full effect and not worry about bottoming your subs...
I'm waiting on my dual 16-46cs+ and requesting 2 port plugs to go with each sub.
Extention is where its at. Losing a few db is no big deal since my room is only 1700^3 ft. I can always turn the volume up.
Jerry
Yeah SVS do rock! I want to upgrade if anyone is willing to take my dual SVS 20-39cs off me.
Richard, email me if you're interested. I can save you time, shipping costs, duty etc.
I live in Vancouver.
One can never have enuf bass. IMO.
Jerry
Howdy Sundar,
I also have the Denon3300 and will check my unit over the next couple of days.
I noticed the last Vancouver meet went sour. Actually it never took place.
You interested in a meet before Christmas?
Good to see you on the forum.
Jerry
Thanks again Lee.
I search the Sanus website but I think they only ship to the lower 48 States.
I'll contact them on Monday and see if I can convince them to ship to Canada.
The shelves do look good.
Jerry
Thanks for the info. Lee.
I really appreciate it. Thanks for bumping it up as well.
BTW which Model of the Sanus do you have?
I would like to purchase my rack very soon.
Can you add racks that are more than 8" in height?
I may have one or more amps that require a 12" clearance.
Jerry
Hi Tom,
My dual SVS are in a good corner. Maybe 2nd best but the setup is functional. I'm looking at racks/shelves right now for my ever-expanding equipment. So location of subs may change.
I'm in denial but I'm slowing moving toward separates.
Room is 12X18X8 with one opening. May put...
Definately go with dual SVS.
I bottomed my dual SVS 20-39cs on the Toy Story 2 intro.
There's no such thing as too much bass!
My room is 12X18X8.
Tom, think dual CS-Ultras will handle the intro without bottoming in my room at reference?
I just might put these up for sale locally in...
Just picked up a used Bryston 3B 2channel 100W@8ohm to drive my B&W602s2 as fronts.
Is this overkill? Or should I trade it in for a Rotel Amp. instead. Like the RB-1070, RB-1080, RB-1090, RMB-1066 or the RMB-1075?
And how much do you think I can get for the Bryston?
Thanks,
Jerry
I would upgrade the center channel first to match your front soundstage.
Then an SVS sub.
Then more powerful amps.
For movies, majority of the dialogue comes from the center channel. It's by far the most important speaker for movie setup IMO.
To experience the full impact of sound effects...
Ok, my turn.
>>>Here are the two proposed scenarios:
1) ($x + $x) on 2 main speakers
($y + $y) on 2 external subs
OR
2) ($x + $x + $y) on 2 main speakers
($y) on 1 external sub
B&W 602s2 Fronts and Rears
B&W LCR6 Center
Dual SVS 20-39cs Subwoofers
Denon 3300 Receiver
Yamaha Receiver powering Subs
I believe you cant go wrong with the 602s or 603s in the front. But I think for the rears, stick with the 600 Series. Go with LCR6 for center, the CC6 is allittle weak...
Hi all,
It's funny that the Laserdisc player's digital outputs sends the DTS signal and not the DD 5.1 signal. Like someone said above, 5.1 is diff. on LDs.
Agreed that most if not all LD players dont sent the DD 5.1 signal but I thought some receivers have built-in RF Demodulators.
I'm...
