Looks like I struck a nerve in the "We don't want to pay $50 for company A's sports game because company B has something similar for $20, but we have a HTS that's worth more than the GNP of a 3rd world country" crowd.
Maybe you should ask Microsoft and Oracle that same question. Even better...
Are you serious? How's that different from making copies of your friend's movies. I mean, it's free, and it's not like you're selling the copy, right? :rolleyes Reinstallation disc is made to restore the system that came with it, not install free software (on the restore CD) on every system...
LOL, ESPN thought they could steal the market share from EA w/ the $20 price tag. That's some serious back fire and burn. Who's your daddy ESPN sports. 1st comes NFL, then MLB, NBA, NHL, and maybe NCAA hoops. Bye bye ESPN, suck it up and call EA Sports your daddy.
Just checked AudioAdvisor again. The recommended speaker stands for your Diamond 8.2 is Target FS series. Only $80. PE's high mass stand fits my B&W 602s perfectly. Those are massive book shelf speakers.
iTunes for encoding and organizing my library and Foobar for playback. That's right, I can't hear the difference between iTunes encoded VBR and LAME encoded VBR anyway. They all sound good when I play them back with kernel stream high bitrate playback with Foobar + Chaintech 710.
Target HR Series @ AudioAdvisor ($199). High Mass Metal Speaker Stand @ Parts Express ($113). Or Atlantis Pro Stands @ Audio Concepts ($169). 24" to 28" height. Fillable column(s).
I didn't say USB 2.0 can do "all that" and more. The point I'm trying to get across the whole time is USB 2.0 is more widely available and affordable than FW, especially FW800. I don't have to proof anything 'cause I didn't say USB 2.0 is the best. FW claims it uses isochronous transfer method...
Important part: dBpowerAMP's mp3 encoder (writer) is on a time limited 30 day trial license, illustrate has provided a 100% free encoder for many years, but a legal challenge (claims of patent infringement) has forced a change, the world cannot have a free mp3 encoder so it seems. Apparently...
That's all theoretical. I mean, have you seen people daisy chain 63 FW ext. HDs together and run a benchmark on all 63 HDs at the same time. Even if that's possible, you'll end up w/ serious bottlenecking. So what's the point?
Rosewill sells a FW800 ext. HD enclosure, but it's $90+. Since my PC only has USB 2.0 ports, I'll stick with USB 2.0. I don't use the G5 that much anyway.
