Just checked AudioAdvisor again. The recommended speaker stands for your Diamond 8.2 is Target FS series. Only $80. PE's high mass stand fits my B&W 602s perfectly. Those are massive book shelf speakers.

iTunes for encoding and organizing my library and Foobar for playback. That's right, I can't hear the difference between iTunes encoded VBR and LAME encoded VBR anyway. They all sound good when I play them back with kernel stream high bitrate playback with Foobar + Chaintech 710.

That all depends on your taste and your equipment. If you feel your speakers put out enough thump w/o the bass boost, then leave it off. If you like more thump, then turn it on. Personally, I like to leave EQ and everything else at default when I listen to music and watch movies. But that's just me.

Anything is better than the composite cable that comes w/ the PS2. You'll see a big jump in quality with S-Video alone, which is what I'm currently using. If you can get the component cable for cheap on ebay, do it. Or else, just get a run of mill S-Video cable to replace the composite cable...
