This aspect ratio controversy regarding Fall of the Roman Empire is curious. I had read, many years ago, that although it had been shot in Ultra Panavision - the 2.76 aspect ratio - all the release prints were struck at 2.20:1. I believe a similar thing had happened with Ben-Hur, some years...
The images from the restored Sodom and Gomorrah release do look encouraging, and I was particularly pleased to see mention of an English language track.
Yeah - would have to agree; Stewart Granger, Stanley Baker and Pier Angeli had such distinctive voices that it would be quite disconcerting listening to dubbed voices issuing from their mouths.
Still, the new transfer looks impressive from this trailer - fingers crossed for an English track!
Seems like The Long Ships has been on my upgrade-from-DVD list forever. Always thought that Twilight Time might have released a blu ray, but sadly not. I generally steer clear of the French releases because of the forced subs.

In the UK, Hercules Unchained went out on the ABC circuit - double billed with The Bugs Bunny Show - at least in the North of England where I live - and was certainly in colour and 'Scope.
Ordered four titles that had been on my buy list for some time: Admirable Crichton, Peyton Place, Ten North Frederick and Sword of Sherwood Forest. I'll probably try and pick up a couple more before the sale ends.
