Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back.

Picked this disc up at Wal-Mart last night after Circuit City and Target showed no signs of the release, not even an empty rack where it would have been sold out. Also, after peeling off the last of the three security stickers from the bottom of the case, the sticker stuck to the paper DVD...

Kudos to HBO for season box sets

Not sure if this is appropriate, but here it goes. I do not subscribe to HBO (nor any other premium movie channels for that matter). I had heard about several fantastic HBO original series through various message boards and what not, so I decided to get the first season box set of Sex and the...

Who else is catching up on getting games for the PS1, N64 and DC?

When I recently bought a PS2 it gave me an opportunity to play all the PSOne games I never played since I didn't own a Playstation. I still have to go through the Final Fantasy series, MGS, Chrono Cross, etc. It's pretty fun since a lot of these games can be found in pawn shops fairly cheaply.

    DVD Profiler ???

Yes, Unrated DVD's are counted as Adult titles and won't display them by default.

"DVD Menu Design: The Failures of Web Design Recreated Yet Again"

I believe I posted this link a while back in a thread discussing menus. I have always preferred having the movie start as soon as the disc is inserted into the player. Defaults such as DTS, DD, language, subtitles, etc. could be defined in the player so that each movie reads that information...

    Any Pearl Jam fans?

Another PJ fan chiming in. When Ten came out I was just graduating from high school and the music really fit my mood at the time. It seems as time has gone on and I've gotten older, PJ's music seems to has changed as well. Eddie definately takes the time to support the political and social...

    X-Box and Dolby Digital...

Yes, Target has the optical cables as well in the $10 - $15 range. As a side note: does an optical to coax adapter exist? I need one for my PS2 since the XBox is using the last remaining optical input in my receiver.

    PS2 controller adapter for PC?

I'm using this adapter to use a regular PSOne controller on my Windows XP PC. Windows sees it as any other controller. If a program lets you customize the joystick then you should have no problem. However, I was not able to get force feedback working but that was no big deal for me. During a...

Anybody got that "overwhelmed" feeling with the consoles?

Boy do I ever. I purchased a PS2 a couple of months ago. In anticipation of receiving the system I purchased the following titles... PS2: Metal Gear Solid 2 Grand Theft Auto 3 Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 Rayman 2 (that's a lot of sequels) SSX PSOne: Xenogears Final Fantasy VIII...

    Menus at startup? Why?

I'm not surprised that the vast majority of posters on this board prefer the menus to come up when inserting a DVD. After all, a majority of the posters here have nice surround sound setups where it is necessary to change the audio setup on a DVD. However, I feel the vast majority of consumers...

Does it get any better than the Sony Wega KV-27FS12?

Thanks for the replies. The JVC sets do look interesting. I'm going to have to find a place that has them both so that I can see them side by side and too see just how much difference the 16:9 mode of the Wega makes.

Does it get any better than the Sony Wega KV-27FS12?

I'm looking for a capable 27" TV to replace my aging Magnavox. I was in Best Buy the other day when I spotted the Sony Wega KV-27FS12. This TV seemed to fit my needs very well based on the following criteria... 1. Inputs: Component input for use with my Toshiba DVD player, 2 composite...
