Theatrical release of Voyage of the Damned (1976) runs 155 minutes. However, a version running 182 minutes was shown on TV and released on VHS (in 1980 from Magnetic Video).

I use a scaler to hide Japanese subtitles when they are below the picture frame on a LaserDisc. The one I have is the DVDO iScan VP20, and the feature is referred to as "borders."

Shout Factory cut out a 5 minute scene that takes place in a bar with Johnny Cash music playing in the background. Music licensing fees prevented the inclusion of this scene.

Episode 2 of Fantastic Journey opens with a re-cap of episode 1. I'm guessing GET aired ep.2 immediately after ep.1, so no need for the re-cap (and more time for commercials).
