the receiver in Greg's signature is a good one to look at, or even the replacement 661 that is just hitting the market. both can be had for under $500 if you are sticking to a budget.

i think that as long as you put a speaker selector with impedance matching you should be ok. or you run the wire to one location that had an impedance matching volume control that allows you to select how many speakers you have running. that one VC would control all 4 speakers in the "zone"...
