    Sony KP-46WT510 question

Nothing like that on mine. Have you centered the image and calibrated the overscan with the service menu? I haven't yet, but that may help.

    Comcast HDTV = 2 boxes?

Well, too late. But I am paying $15 for the install, so if they bring me a box without DVI I'll make them bring another one :)

    Comcast HDTV = 2 boxes?

Hm, the Comcast web site linked me to a PDF manual of the DCT-5100. Maybe it just hasn't been updated... Either way, I just hope its a) 1 box b) looks better than the crap analog cable I have now and c) has DVI out because I'm out of YPbPr inputs... Things are different here sometimes because...

    DLP vs Lcos vs LCD

Well, if he wants a "big" screen LCD or DLP, he's talking (I guess?) about 45-60" and spending between $2800 and $$$ungodly$$... If he's rich, I suggest the Sony Grand Wega 60" (RP-LCD). It will blow your socks off, or perhaps your wallet, or both. Keep in mind that the native resolution is...

Bleeping ridiculous words in movies on TV

It's "Do you see what happens when you meet a stranger in the Alps?" In Jackie Brown, Ordell says he wants his "mutual funded" money!

    DLP vs Lcos vs LCD

Um no... they make CRTs up to 65", maybe bigger.

    DLP vs Lcos vs LCD

None of the flat panels are ready yet. Stick with CRT until they get the resolution up and the prices down.

    Comcast HDTV = 2 boxes?

Where do you live? I really hope it's not 2 boxes. I thought they used the Motorola DCT-5100 with DVI output.

    Comcast HDTV = 2 boxes?

I just ordered Comcast HDTV and the lady said I will get 2 boxes? One for the regular cable and another one for (only) HDTV channels? That sounds crazy, is this true?

    Resolution of widescreen TV?

It depends on your TV. The picture is either stretched or "zoomed in".

My Sony KP-46WT510. I've finally joined the big screen world!

Groovy, thanks alot. I do live in earthquake country, so I will get some blocks to support the TV, and secure the whole rack to the wall, like I do with everything. :)

My Sony KP-46WT510. I've finally joined the big screen world!

Thanks. I noticed the shelves are only 18" deep, that deep enough to put the TV on? If the shelves are just wire-mesh I'll probably get some wood to put on top of all of them. Unfortunately Staples doesn't carry these in stock at their retail stores so I can't go look at em... but I do have a...

My Sony KP-46WT510. I've finally joined the big screen world!

I'm about to buy the same TV. What kind of stand is that and how high is it off the floor? *edit ok Wiretech, I will look for it, but how high is the bottom shelf and is it adjustable? I assume the other shelves are adjustable? Also important, does it rattle or vibrate easily? Like say if you...

    Sony 46 WT520 or Toshiba 46 H84?

Thanks, yeah I don't have the Xbox. Between the choice of either 720 or native 480p, I would choose 480, I do have an excellent P-scan dvd player and watch a lot of dvd.. Anyone else compared these? Or even seen the new Sony yet?

Should I even bother with LCD rear projection

Flat panel tech isn't yet ready for prime time. When they fix the viewing angle problems, the rainbow problems, the blur/lag problems, get the resolution up to 1080 ... AND ... make a decent sized set (50"+) not cost as much as a new Toyota... THEN you can think about it. Til then, CRT is...
