Looking for recommendations...
So my 42-inch Panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV I bought in 2006 has finally died. It was on this forum that I first learned about it. Everyone here was loving it. I loved it, but now it has a green vertical line going up and down the middle of the screen. It was fun...
Thanks for the perspective, Clinton. I was wondering if that would be the better option. I'll probably drop a post next for recommended TVs with my much older, still working amp and Oppo Blu-ray player (although the tray for the disc sometimes won't open).
And, indeed, Angelo! This Panasonic...
I bought a Panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV in 2006. I love it, but now it has a green vertical line going up and down the middle of the screen. It's thin and not too annoying, but I'm wondering if this means I have to finally retire it or might it be fixable?
I wrote a kinda negative review about Damsels in Distress before it hit theaters on my blog. Well, you guys may not believe this, but Whit Stillman himself sat down with me to have lunch and a cup of coffee to discuss that review when he was in Miami a few months back. Here is part 1...
Thanks, guys! I went with the converter box. I stopped by Comp USA and picked the USB Ultra Graphics Adapter, which supposedly converts up to 1080p! We'll see tomorrow...
lol You're right. It's the only thing I have in my home theater that has a USB port.
I have a Panasonic Viera TH-42PX60U 42" HDTV Plasma TV but no USB port. Is there a cable you might recommend to hook my laptop into it as a display, maybe?
Hi!
Does anyone know if you can play a video file or stream a video you have on your laptop PC through the Oppo BDP-83 to your TV? I write film reviews and the studio is giving me login to a site to watch the film before it enters theaters. I've done it before but for this one I really want to...
I'm hoping to catch the film again. I don't feel it's a perfect movie (uneven maybe a good word), but it was something to see on the big screen. I wrote a pretty in-depth review here:

I think the only thing that raises the film to a watchable level is Williams' powerful and nuanced performance. I wrote a review here: http://indieethos.wordpress.com/2011/11/25/michelle-williams-charms-in-my-week-with-marilyn/ If I had to give it a grade, it would be a C.
I loved this movie! I wrote a pretty in-depth review here, also touching on films with similar themes, and which ones work (this also includes another great schizo flick: Martha Marcy May Marlene)...
Hi, Mikael, It seems you got yours before me. Good to hear it provided a nice listen. It would be awesome if you can post your comments on the original thread, as someone adding his opinion to the piece outside myself, as I'm just too close to it all to offer an objective comment. Part 2 of the...
So the Garson interview continues with one that covers his career with Bowie and also deeply probes his creative process. In 2004 I spoke to him for a proposed cover story in "Goldmine Magazine" which never materialized after a series of mishaps that lead to Bowie's quiet retirement. It finally...
