Maybe the Mic for Denon is of a much better quality and as such doesn't pay for Denon to include it free as Pioneer and Yamaha do. I know that both the latter mentioned mics don't look more expensive than $5 a piece. Just speculation though as I haven't seen the new Denon first hand.
That's right Shane, the Pioneer's with exception to the 59txi do NOT have PLIIx. However, if you only have a 5.1 system PLIIx doesn't add anything to PLII. Also, it's already been noted that the 3805 is essentially a 3803 with PLIIx, denon-link, and the auto room setup (The Pioneer elites...
Hell, all you need is to look at the above pictures of the two. No contest. Go with the 3300. It was still too pricey when I bought my current receiver to attain but the cost they are going for now is like 50% of what I came across half a year ago.
I would save the $ and go with the 1400 over the 2400. How is the pricing for the other two? For the remote I have observed that a receiver has the most unique buttons on it of any component in your system. That is why other universal remotes seem to always fall short of the remote that came...
Good choice Jesse. I would consider the 4802 the best then the 3300 and 1400 next based on whether you need the better amp and power supply of the 3300 or want the newer features on the 1400. Good hunting.
Good point Paul. I have already used my two optical ins and now need to restrict myself to buying further HT pieces with Coax. Not huge as most brands are now aware of providing both a coax and optical now a days...but my current DVD and CD player only had optical.
Actually, the guts of all 4 Elites (43tx, 53tx, 45tx, 55txi) are essentially the same. I doubt you'll hear a difference in sound between any conecctions except using the i.link from the 55txi. The 53tx offers the same MCACC as the 45tx and 55txi, so it 'can' improve the sound over the 43tx, but...
The current Onkyo's are even cheaper than their predecessors of a year or two ago. And the lack of power is definitely an issue. Out of all receiver brands out their that I have listened to Onkyo is the ONE company that fails to have enough power for movies with loud surround scenes. The...
There are exceptions, but weight is typically a good indicator of a good receiver. And if the transformer weighs so much more then why is the new 2400 less powerful than the 2200 from a couple years ago. I beleive it's because they sacrificed power for more features. Either that or Yamaha was...
One thing to note about that James is that the 2200 is a couple years older and weighed near the same as todays 2400 with more channels and more features. So likely power supply/heat sink what have you has been downgraded a bit since the 2200.
I see. Sorry, I don't know the answer to that one. I know that Denon is pretty fickle about there warranty though. You better keep calling them until you get an answer.
