Well guys I finally took the plunge to go widescreen..I know I am a little late in the game, but my Hitachi 53SDX was doing a decent job at playing DVD's and HDTV signal...but she was getting a little dated with the LB 4:3 and all. Over the holiday weekend, I was at "FRY's" and found a brand...
I believe these units were available in early 2000 (2001 Maybe)..I got mine in 2002 and paired it with a parasound 855a (5 Channel amp) and no issues whatsoever...It switches fine, no delayed voices and works great for DVD-A using direct outputs. Happy ES Owner here. Angelo
Sony STRDA5ES...Still running strong after all these years....The only reason I would replace this unit is for the Up-Conversion models like the RX-V2600 From Yammy... No Issues wahtsoever on this thing. :)
I have some preliminary measurements..please review and let me know if this will work.. The subwoofer will be placed Under the TV to the right side. I wanted to get 210 Liters tuned to about 16Hz and I came up with these dimentions. Box Size will be 33.5 x 18 x 26 (W x H x L)...
