Well guys I finally took the plunge to go widescreen..I know I am a little late in the game, but my Hitachi 53SDX was doing a decent job at playing DVD's and HDTV signal...but she was getting a little dated with the LB 4:3 and all. Over the holiday weekend, I was at "FRY's" and found a brand...
I believe these units were available in early 2000 (2001 Maybe)..I got mine in 2002 and paired it with a parasound 855a (5 Channel amp) and no issues whatsoever...It switches fine, no delayed voices and works great for DVD-A using direct outputs. Happy ES Owner here. Angelo
Sony STRDA5ES...Still running strong after all these years....The only reason I would replace this unit is for the Up-Conversion models like the RX-V2600 From Yammy... No Issues wahtsoever on this thing. :)
I have some preliminary measurements..please review and let me know if this will work.. The subwoofer will be placed Under the TV to the right side. I wanted to get 210 Liters tuned to about 16Hz and I came up with these dimentions. Box Size will be 33.5 x 18 x 26 (W x H x L)...
Cam- The entertainment center is pretty much Wall to wall..with built in shelves for the gear on both sides. Yes- Austin is where i'll be by next year. Angelo:D
Graham- Thanks for the response. At this time we want to know the BEST place for the sub..either the bottom of the shelf or behind the TV. Aparently we have enough room for either space. Angelo
Hello- My Co-worker wants me to build him a Subwoofer based on the Tempest and he sent me the following picture of his Entertainment Center. He would like to utilize the empty space under the TV and use it as a sub enclosure. SEE PIC! Will this configuration damage the TV in...
Back to Life-
It has been a SOLID 2 Years from the first post and my 855A is STILL going strong..
I have the amp turned on ALL THE TIME (not using the trigger at all), NO PROBLEMS what so ever and running like a champ without shutting off or any kind of hiss.
As soon as the new house is...
Demetrius- Thanks for the response..I just read the entire build-up of mr Scott Pope's theater and its pretty awesome...I don't think I'll go to that extreme unless my budget permits. This room will be mostly for Movies(50 %), Music (25 %), Games (25 %). I'll be using some gear that I...
Hello All- I am having a house built that will have a dedicated "Media Room"..I want this to be my HT room...It's roughly 18 X 14 (I can enlarge it if needed). Should I have them Pre-Wire (Video, 7.1 Audio Set-up, Projector wiring, etc etc) everything?? Should I have them install extra...
John- Just an FYI..the Kappa 6.5 coax wont fit the Malibu as a drop in..you will need a spacer to clear the window. The 4x6's would be a better bet. I would suggest some CDT Classics or even the CDT Slim Coaxs..they sound MUCH better than the Kappas IMO. Angelo
I bought this from onecall 2 months or so ago at their clearance price but I paid about $90.00 for shipping. It is still in the box and I only removed the onecall packaging but NOT the Manuf, packaging. I will sell it for $265.00 if you come and pick it up or $275.00 and I will deliver...

This is for my HTPC, I was just wondering if you have any spare Component Video Cable you wanna get rid of..DIY or Brand name.. Needs to be at least 6 Feet long. Reply here on what you have. Thanks
Just an Update- I finally hooked up my HTPC to my HDTV yesterday (but with only S-Video) and everything seems to be working fine except the video needs to be a little better. The sound is hooked up via the SPDIF and I get DD and DTS great, BUT it seems to be a little on the soft side of...

ok, so basically this HTPC is only a DVD player/Scaler...am I on the right track? I just want to be able to watch DVD's in the room and maybe paly some games online with a BIG screen tv rather than this 21" Monitor. Angelo
