I wonder if the people doing the nominations watch more than a handful of shows. How "Gilmore Girls" gets a goose-egg is beyond me, and while I'm sure "The West Wing" is great... 4 of 6 supporting actor nods? Is it really that much better than everything else out there?

The West Wing is a good show, but I agree that it does seem that academy members tend to ignore certain shows, while overly praising others. But there really is so much out there; I guess it's hard to keep up.

And while I have nothing against The Sopranos (I've never watched it, actually), I'm glad it wasn't eligible this year. Glad to see 24 get noticed, though.

And once a show gets nominated once, it seems to get inertia. I'm convinced that "Will & Grace" (and everyone associated with it) was first nominated due to some sort of clerical error, and then continued to be nominated because, hey, it's already proven to be "Emmy-caliber". Posted Image

Jason, you took the words out of my mouth. Same with Friends and Raymond.

If George Kaplan can gripe about the Oscar's choice in Best Pictures since 1975, I'll do the same about the Outstanding Comedy Series choices at the Emmies since the 1990s.

Enough is enough, Disney. No more evasions or excuses. We DEMAND the release Song of the South on Blu-ray along with the uncut version of Bedknobs and Broomsticks on Blu-ray. I am going to boycott The Walt Disney Company until then.

Here's a longer list of nominations:

http://www.emmys.com...awardsarts.html

It's weird how last year's best actor in a comedy winner, Eric McCormick isn't even nominated, but his counterpart, Debra Messing is nominated in the best actress in a comedy.

The West Wing has 4 nominees for best supporting actor in a drama, and 3 nominees for best supporting actresses, and 3 nominees for best guest actor. Sheesh!

Was it this year that Gilmore Girls was entered into the drama category?

It's surprising to see Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry in the best comedy actor category after all these years.

I personally think Friends deserves, not just a nomination, but an Emmy Award by now. It's been consistently the funniest show to me for the past few years, and this season was outstanding. Enough of Fraiser always winning.

I'm very excited for Six Feet Under and it's cast. That's an excellent show. The actors all deserve to win!

Too bad for Eric McCormick, last years winner for comedy, since the rest of his cast was nominated, and he had to introduce.

Once again, anything with a sci-fi bent got the shaft, but what can you do?

How is it that Six Feet Under "Pilot" can be nominated this year when Rachel Griffiths won last year for playing Brenda?

I also can't beleive EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND got a nod before Malcolm in the Middle.

Outstanding Non-Fiction Program (Reality) : Taxicab Confessions??!!!

I hope that South Park gets the Emmy. 24, too.

There are so many categories to give out. Thank god the Oscars aren't like this.

Scrubs got completely shut out! Noooooo!

Dr. Cox at least deserved a supporting nod.

"Dr. Cox have you been there the whole time?"

"No, I just came in through the couch door."

I'm pretty sure Scrubs got a nomination in the director of a comedy category.
