I'm thinking 1995 Braveheart, that I didn't see at the local Odeon. I saw a really overrated film of same composer James Horner, APOLLO 13 at the MGM screen 1 at least 14 times. It had demo music demo dialogue demo Foley effect demo sound effects it was demo overrated.trajan said:GONE WITH THE WIND---ROCKY---AVATAR----GRAVITY----AMERICAN HUSTLE----CRASH---BRAVEHEART
I agree but at the same time, how can any movie live up to the laurels that have been given to Citizen Kane or The Godfather or 2001 or Vertigo or even more entertaining fare like Star Wars or Jaws or Raiders Of The Lost Ark or Titanic? You'd be hard pressed to find a bigger Star Wars fan than me but if I saw it for the first time today, I can guarantee I'd wonder why it was THAT beloved.Peter Apruzzese said:If anything, Citizen Kane is still underrated. As is 2001.
Oh, what a thing to say.davidHartzog said:Titanic, 10 minutes in I was looking at my watch. Same with 2001. Citizen Kane is still one of the greatest films ever.
Yeah got hand to Cameron he entertained me alright.Chuck Mayer said:I have to admit, these threads make my skin crawl.
Perhaps a more accurate title is: "The films that most other people like more than I do"
I do always love the inclusion of Titanic and Avatar, though. The guy made TWO films that grossed $4.5B total, consecutively. After 12 years of Star Wars, Disney, Pirates, LOTR, Harry Potter, Shrek 2, Spider-Man, and Batman trying to break that record...he just did it himself. Probably just luck, though.
