I pave a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 601 speakers that I use for surround sound. I want to put them on stands in the back of the room. I've tried googling stands, but I'm not quite sure what to look for.

Are any stands made specifically to fit my speakers? Or are they all general use?

How do I know which stands will fit?

Are recommendations? I'd like to keep it under $300 or so.

Thanks

As long as the stand puts the tweeter around ear height and its top plate is no smaller than the speaker...

Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, HH Gregg, Fry's, Best Buy and Amazon have tens of thousands of choices.

Or...you could build a pair from scratch...If you got the skills/tools.

I like adjustable stands that give you flexibility of height in case you change the furniture or the speakers. This way you're not buying stands again after you make a change.

You could go with a set of these stands which aren't really that expensive and well under budget. I however would prefer to go with wall mounted speaker holders like these here. I just never really liked stands, especially if you have kids, or never ever move your furniture around.
