The modestly budgeted erotic drama is expected to cross the $500 million mark later this week making it one of the most profitable films released over the past year. Notably, with $139.1 million to date, Warner Bros.' 'American Sniper' now ranks as the highest grossing Clint Eastwood directed film internationally with a total that is closing in on the $500 million threshold worldwide."

IOW, it's Really Popular Overseas. :rolleyes:

Here, it was pretty doomed not to get a third week, and the Will Smith movie took it out of default just for being new.
