I've mentioned here before that Columbia Blu-rays are boring to review.
There's never anything interesting to report.
Color levels, shadow detail, grain structure and resolution are always spot on, perfect.
So here we go...
To Sir, with Love, which is about to be released by Twilight Time, is a beautifully constructed 1967 production from James Clavell, and is his most known feature work. As a screenwriter, you'll find his credit on films like The Great Escape and The Fly. As a novelist, Shogun.
There have been many films which portray teachers, taking on students in a less than perfect environment, and bringing them around.
To Sir, with Love, probably because of Sidney Poitier's lead performance, is one of the best,
It's a wonderfully sweet film, made in the UK, on a tiny budget, with some superb performances, that looks great on Blu-ray.
If you've not experience it, this is one to pick up.
