I hope that title makes sence. I had the chance to make some free standing av stands when they cut up a machine at work with nice thick square tubing. I just brought some tv wall mounts to use at the top of them from wayfair.

I just got them, but instead of the 23-47 inch size the site specs said, what I got are listed for 23-42" tv's. I don't have TV's for them yet, but I was hoping to go as big as I could find/afford when I did. with the site's specs I was hoping I could even sneak up to a 50" if I lucked into some. realisticly I probably won't be able to afford a pair of TV's that big.

do you think it will matter? they are rated at 65lbs capacity. would that be more something to go by? they seem as sturdy as any I've brought before, but I wish the specs would have been more exact.

I guess the long and short of it is, should I send them back or will they work for me? thanks.

on a side note. I'm not quite a new member, but a seldom user. either I've forgotten something or the forum's forgotten me.

Regarding the mount, I would think that weight is the most important factor in being safe to use the mount with the TV you get. Where the size probably comes into play is where the mount attaches to the set. I just helped a neighbor mount a large TV this weekend (65"?). The adjustable mounting kit just fit onto the holes on the back of his set. When you go TV shopping you will have to pay attention to where the mounting holes are on the back of the set and see if your mounting brackets are long enough to fit.

There are only 2 factors in determining if a TV wall mount can work:VESA patterns supported, and weight capacity. If the mount supports your TV's VESA bolt pattern, and the tv's weight, it should work just fine.

thanks. i think the patterns went up to 200x200 (at work right now). i'll look into what it takes to return them, but i think i'll probaly end up keeping them. i hate dealing with returning stuff, and i probaly won't end up with too big of sets anyway. i just wanted the option.

has anyone had much dealing with wayfair? this is my first order and I'm getting really frustrated with them.

I went ahead and decided to see about returning them. they apologized and said they would send out what I originally ordered. I tried to get a credit and look into ordering something bigger since they had messed up the order, but they said something like it would complicate the order.

so I get one mount in the mail today. one, instead of the pair I ordered before, and it's the same mount as they sent the first time. something in their inventory numbers isn't right.

so I've just emailed them again and will again see if they'll let me get away from this item altogether and order something else, or just get a refund.
