I have a "bump out" in the LR that has a gas FP and adds a good bit of arch detail to the LR. I want to build in a TV and in-walls there and have it be as decent as possible for casual viewing, entertaining etc. I will also be building a dedicated HT room so this is NOT main movie screening area, the area in question is a big, open almost 1K sq ft room with kitchen, bar, dining, living area.
What I have is 9" ceilings coffered to 10" directly in front of this "bump out/built in". Gas FP is center, top of FP is 48". The TV will be placed in a 3-4" recess directly above the FP and in walls on either side (flush to front of screen) and theoretically the center above. Rears will be on the angled down portion of coffered ceiling in rear, couple over bar, couple of outdoor speakers too. Couch seating/viewing roughly 9-10' from FP/TV.
Would it be better for me to move TV up and center down or do as described above? How far outboard to place R/L in walls?
