Other than NIGHTMARE and EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN, which are minor Hammer I can live without (I have the DVD's), KISS OF THE VAMPIRE is the one Universal-released Hammer title that has not yet surfaced in Europe. I expect it will, probably within a year or so. The ones I have purchased (CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, CAPTAIN CLEGG, PARANOIA and BRIDES OF DRACULA, look pretty decent. Time for Sony to surrender their titles (BLOOD FROM THE MUMMY'S TOMB, THE GORGON, REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN).

I just ordered the German BD of Curse of the Werewolf. The reviews have been favorable.

Can't wait for Kiss of the Vampire. :)

Oh yes, The Kiss Of The Vampire, the first X certificate film I ever saw. Very late 1963 & I was only just 13 (I should have been 16, but was tall for my age). It was a good first Hammer, as it's a very classy vampire movie. It should look great...it probably won't.

Depends who releases it and which country.
Universal seem to have some of the films in a 2:1 ratio which crops too much of the image but some titles like Werewolf are framed at the correct 1.85:1 as is Evil of Frankenstein.
But regardless of the ratio the image quality on all the Universal Hammer titles has been very good so far

As a side note - the batch of 8 Hammer films owned by Universal that were released as a 2 disc set laden with playback issues due to using the dvd-18 discs has apparently been reissued in a new error free 4 disc set .
If only they'd done it 4 or 5 years ago . Got too many on Blu now to buy the dvd's again
