I know I should spend a few hours looking through the “answers”, but I am known for being impatient, so I have a few questions if anyone can help.
Okay, I just finishing off our new TV/music room, and I want to try and get some ideas from any wise sage’s that might lead me on the right path.
The room is approx 24 feet x 18 feet, and has a sloping cathedral ceiling (goes up to 18 feet at one side).
I am at the stage of finishing off plaster boarding (sheetrock). I have put in cabling for six speakers. Two at the front, two more about a third of the way back, and two at the rear (all about 8 feet from floor). Oh, I will be installing a wooden floor, so I can still mess around with floor wiring options.
The TV will be mounted on one of the narrow (18 foot) walls.
The house renovations have cost us a fortune, and my wife doesn’t want to spend yet another fortune (in fact we don’t have it) on “Hi-fi”.
Maybe ideally it would be a good idea to get a system I can “add too” as funds permit.
The downside is, we now live in New Zealand, and stuff costs a fortune here! One option is to get gear from overseas, as long as it can run on 240v.
