Brilliant!
I'll be interested to see what if any extras they offer over the 20th SD disc.

It appears that disc-based extras will include the "Journey with a Star" doco from the original DVD, plus an audio commentary, deleted scene and trailer. The package will also include a 36-page booklet.

Strangely unbalanced cover art with no studio and no cast credits.
Wonder if that's how it will look when released? I hope not.

Still it's a must have for me, cover art or not.

Doug.

A must-have for me as well. I can kind of understand where they wanted to go, re: the cover (a vintage 1940s poster vibe), but the original DVD art was so much more appealing:

I saw a 35mm Technicolor print of this film in the New Yorker theater, sometime in the '70s. I believe it belonged to a private collector. You haven't seen bananas unless you've seen this in Technicolor!

I just watched my copy of The Gang's All Here and I was extremely impressed with the transfer. It's probably the best it's ever going to look close to Technicolor prints.

The special features are Busby Berkeley: A Journey With a Star documentary (19 minutes), deleted scene, commentary with critics Glenn Kenney and Farran Smith Nehme and film historian Ed Hulse, original theatrical trailer and a 56-page booklet.

If you need a reason to get a multi-region player, this is it!

So glad to hear this - I'd hesitated to order it, wondering if it would have the same poor color as the Fox DVD. It's now on the list for my next Amazon.uk order :)

I watched the whole film over the weekend... amazing skin tones, brilliant colors and no color fringing at all. This is the best example of early Technicolor I've ever seen. It even bests Meet Me In St Louis. The only weird thing was a strange color balance on the Fox logo at the beginning. The film itself was sharp, beautiful and perfect in every way.
