Hey how is everyone. I'm a new member here. I figured I'd show you guys my miserable attempt of putting a home theater together.About a year ago I began researching and slowly buying components. I read alot, and still made ALOT of mistakes. I picked up a Benq W10000 projector that is native 1080p, and a cheapo 100" screen.
Because I'm in a apartment, I could not secure the projector to the ceiling, so I mounted it on a shelf. My throw distance is 13 feet a little short to fill the 100" screen. I'm running a Bluejeans BJC hdmi cable from the projector to my HTPC.
I built my HTPC, I'm using a nMedia 6000B case, AMD A6-5400k with 8gb of ram and a 120gb SSD. I have it networked to a 6TB WD NAS storage unit. I also have a a Centon Infinitv PC card which when it gets along with XBMC works pretty good.
My surround sound is a joke. A Sony Head unit 5.1 that throws out 65W per channel. It does the job, but I put it together pretty quickly and is the next thing that I'm going to spend money and time on. I'm also looking at suggestions to mount the projector a better way (maybe mount it on the underside of the shelf )and any other suggestions you guys have would be great. At the least I figured this would give you guys a good laugh, but its great for football games and movie nights. Thanks, looking forward to learning from you guys.
