Anyone know if there has been or if there will be a release of this series?

My kids like Spider Man and the X Men so I thought they would enjoy this series as well.

I have found a couple of bootleg releases but don't buy bootleg material.

Thanks for any info.

I don't think it's out on any legit DVD. If it was, I would have bought it by now.

They may enjoy the older (and newer) versions of Justice League aka Super Friends. I know it's a different universe and all, but the same general concept applies.

I would also point you in the direction of the Marvel animated films: Avengers I/II, Thor: Tales of Asgard, Invincible Iron Man, etc. They're not as bloody as the DC animated films, but should satiate their interest for a while.

Disney owns the show now, as part of their Marvel library.

Disney hasn't been crazy about releasing any catalog animated show for a while now, even the Marvel ones.

Its available in the UK via amazon and its a legit pressing. Region 2 release.
Exactly. if they worked from film masters (rather than tape), you'd have 4% PAL speed-up, though (this is a deal breaker to some people). I've had the UK Fantastic Four (Herbie the Robot) set in my Amazon cart for quite awhile, but haven't pulled the trigger yet, so I can't speak to what kinds of masters were used for the R2 Marvel animated releases, but there's a lot of stuff out on R2 that hasn't been released in R1 land yet.

This has been out for AGES here in Europe via ClearVision. In fact almost all of the Marvel series are: Silver Surfer, the original and new Spiderman series, X-Men, all of the animated Hulk shows, Spider Woman, all of the Fantastic Four series, all of the Iron Man series. Even the original 1966 shows from Grantray are out.

Unfortunately here in the UK they have begun going out of print - the Silver Surfer and Spider-Man shows are almost impossible to get.

However, they can still easily be found on Amazon Germany.

The content is absolutely identical as ClearVision issued a common set of discs for the release countries (wjhch included Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany) - so you can watch with the original English track and the subtitles can be switched off, and the episodes themselves reatin the original English credits and titles etc.

The one and only difference is the out packagaing. The artwork is identical, but the show title is in German. For example, it will say "Die Komplette Serie" (Comeplete Series) and "Folgen 1-13" (Episodes 1-13) on the front. And of course the description on the back is in German, plus the rating mark from the censor is the German version (usually FSK 6)

Your Amazon.com account will work on Amazon.de and the ordering process is the same. It will know you're in the USA and calculate shipping accordingly.

Don't wait. The ClearVision releases are going out of print. Some of them are already almost impossible to find, at least in the UK.

I;ve no idea where they mastered them from, but they look pretty good to me, and given that there are loads of titles that simply aren't out at all in the USA - well, that kinda makes the 4% speedup thing a bit of a moot point.

I certainly plan on getting FF in my next Amazon order (which should be soon).

PAL speedup isn't a deal-breaker for me on stuff that's not available any other way, but I simply mentioned it for those here who seem to consider that more important than having the title at all.

The 1982 Incredible Hulk is a must watch pair with Spider Friends, both in region 2 dvds
(or on youtube)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Incredible-Hulk-Complete-Animated-Collection/dp/B004I9SJSE/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1397507949&sr=1-2&keywords=incredible+hulk+1982

I bought the region 2 set of Spiderman and his Amazing Friends back when it came out,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spider-Man-Amazing-Friends-Complete-Collection/dp/B00ABK7HA0/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1397507788&sr=1-1&keywords=spiderman+and+his+amazing+friends

it would be nice if it came out in region 1 to address some small issues with the Stan Lee
narration. Most fans of the show probably enjoy these voice over intros, but actually the
first season and second seasons aired without them originally, they were added when
the show aired with the Incredible Hulk.

So the DVD was released was released without them, apparently that is the masters that exist,
some of the narration is thought to be missing.

More info here:

Are the episodes on the UK versions unedited? There were various cuts when the show(s) were seen in the US in the late 90s/early 2000s.

I THINK SMahAF is on Netflix still, no?

The only edits I know of are some slight changes to some of the X-Men episodes.Namely, the very first two and one of the Apocalypse Saga has a slight cut. Don;t know of any others.
