So, I've read about power conditioner and my brother swears by them. Are they worth the price and what's a good moderately priced unit? It'll be a while before I can buy one, but i'll say between $200-$500. Best value, just not pure price

Best value is a UPS intended for HT, although computer UPS work fine anyway.

With most UPS, power conditioning is a byproduct.

I didn't realize that and I'm a computer guy. I need to do my research. Well actually, I've seen some conditioners that do that as well, so makes sense

Yeah, except "power conditioning" is a buzzword adding to cost.

It is like(not making this up) this cassette adapter(remember those??) I saw at a local thrift store.

The same adapter in two different packages. The "works with Apple" one cost $5 more. The product number added an A at the end.

I purchased a Rocket Fish power conditioner. After trying it out I went out and bought two more to give as gifts to my home theater buddies who also loved it. I hear a difference in my system. I believe this is the one I have: http://www.amazon.co...wer conditioner. That is a very good price for it.
