Now he gets to go sit on some real jam sessions.

Too bad.  I loved Cale's work with Lou Reed (The Velvet Underground) and later with Eno.  The tune Sky Saw (from Eno's Another Green World -- one of my favorite albums of his) is wonderful.  And Phil Collins' percussion work on that album is in my opinion superb.

It's JJ Cale, not John Cale, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JJ_Cale

Both great musicians, to be sure, but John Cale is still with us.

JJ Cale wrote some really memorable songs, most have heard Cocaine, or After Midnight, although probably performed by Eric Clapton...

I read it the same way, and even passed the information on to some people who took great delight in my error.

Charles,

I would delete my post, but I don't think I have the authority to do so.

Scott, No need to delete the post IMHO, an honest mistake many of us have done, and your points about John Cale's music are still valid.
