I don't know who currently has the rights to this HBO film (Warner Bros?), but it's a fine film in desperate need of Blu-ray release.
Technically, one is The Changeling and the other is simply Changeling.jimmyjet said:wow - 2 different films with the same name.
i just watched the one about the corrupt police force in la last week.
Both The Changeling and The Silent Partner are classic, in my opinion.Mark Edward Heuck said:Actually, I suspect maybe this might be in Lionsgate's camp now. Both THE CHANGELING and THE SILENT PARTNER were very early productions by Mario Kassar and Andrew Vajna, the founders of Carolco (FIRST BLOOD, BASIC INSTINCT, TERMINATOR 2). Initially, both titles got seed money from HBO in exchange for home video rights, which first went to Vestron when HBO had a deal with them, and later to HBO when they got their own standalone label. However, a few years ago, THE SILENT PARTNER reverted to StudioCanal, who put it out through Lionsgate. The logic suggests that THE CHANGELING would follow suit as well. The fact that it has not surfaced is probably due to Lionsgate's general disinterest in catalog titles.
I agree, hopefully it will be released on BD here very soon. I hope the muddled ownership of this film becomes more clearer to us.Tino said:One of the best underrated ghost films ever made. Love it.
