Thank you for that. Amazon Germany's website says this disc is being issued by Ascot Elite Home Entertainment. Who the hell are they? Is this a German Criterion or Eureka? Or some bootleg outfit peddling junk?

Amazon Prime members can stream it for free in HD (albeit without intermission/entr'acte).

 

It was on an HD cable channel a while back (I forget which one) complete with intermission/entr'acte.

 

But neither one of the above had a transfer that was worthy of a blu-ray release. It will be interesting to see if any clean up work has been performed.
