Hmmmm.... http://arstechnica.c...d-iphone-plans/ You still have to pay full price up front for the device (tho I suppose the market will be flooded when the next rev comes out...)

I lost my signature and all I got was this Nutter t-shirt

I'm glad to see the iPhone come to Virgin Mobile, but am still on the fence about going for it. Given the price of the phone, you wouldn't really experience a significant cost savings (compared to contract) until the second year. And by then the iPhone 4 might be looking a bit long in the tooth...

Performance on the Sprint network also concerns some people. One suggestion I read was to buy an unlocked phone from Apple at the same price Virgin is asking for, and go with one of AT&T's non-contract plans at $50. That would be comparable to getting the phone with Virgin and getting their $50 unlimited plan.

Wait, so people could theoretically cheap out on data services and actually expect to get full performance from them? :D
