I'm glad to see the iPhone come to Virgin Mobile, but am still on the fence about going for it. Given the price of the phone, you wouldn't really experience a significant cost savings (compared to contract) until the second year. And by then the iPhone 4 might be looking a bit long in the tooth...

Performance on the Sprint network also concerns some people. One suggestion I read was to buy an unlocked phone from Apple at the same price Virgin is asking for, and go with one of AT&T's non-contract plans at $50. That would be comparable to getting the phone with Virgin and getting their $50 unlimited plan.
