How to transcode/put/edit Canon/P2 MXF to FCE? MXF files are often recorded by high-end camcorders, such as canon XF series, like XF305, XF300, or Panasonic P2 series. These excellent camcorders record high-definition video footages in .mxf format. It’s good to maintain the high quality of the video by using MXF format, but this format is not compatible with editing software and other portable devices. For example, you may encounter many problems when you want to import MXF to FCP on Mac, or convert MXF to FCE, etc. MXF format is not well supported by the editing software especially on Mac, neither nor windows OS. If you have recorded many MXF videos, youmay want to edit them in Final Cut Pro on Mac, it’s good to convert MXF to QuickTime MOV, but the best choice is to convert MXF to FCP ProRes 422 MOV format, because Apple ProRes codec is best supported by FCP on Mac, below is a brief guide for you. 1.
