I was just e-mailed the following news:
Quote:
At the KTCS9 20th Anniversary evening [on August 24, 2008], Robert [Llewellyn, (Kryten)] announced to a small crowd that a brand new, 1 hour Red Dwarf episode had been commissioned by BBC Worldwide, to be filmed in October 2008.

He wouldn't spoil the storyline, but did mention that the script is being finalised (sic) right now.

...

It was recorded by KTCS9 for a future DVD.

...

KCTS is a PBS station in Seattle.

New Red Dwarf? Just when I thought there was no hope of ever seeing a new episode of this. Looking forward to the DVD (or Blu-ray) whenever it comes. Posted Image

Hey, they brought Doctor Who back as the most successful series on British television. At this point, anything can happen!

There is a promo Llewellyn did for the station here in which he announces that he is going to announce something (which we now already know about).

It is supposed to come out on DVD in the UK in June according to

And BBCA said at

that

In the U.S. and Canada, we expect to see a pristine DVD with loads of extras before the year ends. In the meantime, check out this interview with Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules and Robert Llewellyn...
