The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

I'm surprised to see that the title of Rambo 4 has been changed. When I saw it theaterically I thought that it was titled "John Rambo". IMDB lists this as one of the various working / fake titles:

Quote:
Rambo (2008)
aka "Rambo: To Hell and Back" - USA (working title)
aka "Rambo 4: John Rambo" - Singapore (English title)
aka "Rambo: First Blood Part IV" - USA (fake working title)
aka "Rambo IV" - USA (working title), Brazil
aka "Rambo 4" - India (English title), Singapore (English title)
aka "Rambo IV: In the Serpent's Eye" - USA (working title)
aka "Rambo IV: End of Peace" - USA (working title)
aka "Rambo IV: Pearl of the Cobra" - USA (working title)
aka "John Rambo" - USA (working title), Denmark, Germany, Greece, Switzerland (English title), Finland, Belgium (French title), France, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Turkey (Turkish title)
The movie poster lists the title as "Rambo":
Attachment 935

Taking a look at the cover artwork for the BD version, the title has definitley been changed / updated with "The Fight Continues":
Attachment 936

Anyway, I had not heard that the title was changed and thought that it was interesting.

Another note regarding R: TFC on BD (per the sticker on the front):

Includes Bonus
Digital Copy
of the Feature
Compatible with iTunes
and Windows Media

It appears that the SE: 2-Disc Set also contains this same Bonus.
See cover at Amazon: Amazon.com: Rambo (Special Edition + Digital Copy): Julie Benz, Ken Howard, Sylvester Stallone, Graham McTavish, Paul Schulze, Matthew Marsden, Rey Gallegos, Tim Kang, Jake LaBotz, Sai Mawng, Maung Maung Khim, Cameron Pearson, Thomas Peterson, Tony S

Rambo: The Fight Continues will likely be my only purchase this week.

I'll rent Grace is Gone (for me) and Minutemen (for my teen daughters).

Thanks as always for the RoundUp Mike & Patrick.

Looks like it's catch up on BD week for me: I still have to get Master and Commander as well as V For Vendetta.

It appears that the SE: 2-Disc Set also contains this same Bonus.

The Bonus Digital Copy included with the BD version raises an interesting question: Will I need a BD drive in my PC in order to be able to access this? Or, will it be included on a separate disc (CD or DVD)?

If I had to make a guess, I would say the latter option is more likely. The Digital Copy for iTunes would probably be around 500MB - 600MB, and could easily fit on a CD to be included in the packaging.

Lionsgate's site doesn't even mention this bonus / extra content:

the digi dl is a separate disc.

is the title of Rambo "Rambo the Fight Continues" or is anything after "rambo" just an add-on like the way they add an actors name after the title sometimes, "the Seige and Bruce Willis" for example.

so is it called "Rambo" or Rambo the Fight Continues?

The Rambo digital copy is on a data DVD (won't play in standalone players, or so it says on the packaging). When I looked at the disc properties it was a little over 1GB in size.

"The Fight Continues" seems to have been added with the optical media releases. "John Rambo" was what I heard the title would be when it was in development/production, similar to "Rocky Balboa," but when it was released theatrically it became "Rambo." Or that's how I remember it. It seems having funky titling is as much a part of the franchise as a gigantic knife. Posted Image

Thanks for the update and clarification on the Digital Copy Tony.
I just noticed that the Special Features details for the BD version at DeepDiscount.com also note that it's on a separate disc.
Link: Blu-ray - Rambo [Blu-ray Disc] R (MPAA) / Lions Gate Home Entertainment / Blu-ray Disc

I also saw that Matt Hough reviewed the 2-Disc SE version and noted that the Digital Copy is on a separate disc as well.
Link: http://www.hometheat....l-edition.html

What's really interesting about this marketing for this version is that it's being promoted as the "2-Disc Special Edition", which would lead me to believe that I'm getting a second DVD chock-full of Special Features. In actuality, all of the Special Features are contained on Disc 1 with the movie. All that is on the second disc is the Digital Copy! Both Matt's review and the Special Features at DeepDiscount.com confirm this. Is anyone else surprised by this approach?

As far as the name goes, who knows? The responses to Matt's review debate this topic as well.

You gotta love the way stores market things - those aren't "exclusive" to Best Buy, they're being released wide in August (currently available for pre-order at Amazon and other e-tailers). BB just has an early window to sell those titles.

You're correct. The movie was called 'Rambo' in theaters (but it was called 'John Rambo' before it came out).

Thanks for the roundup. Nothing for me this week, though.

Just He-Man on Tuesday. Though, with the % off coupons we got in the mail this week, I wouldn't rule out a trip to BB today while we're running errands. Posted Image

Today, Sunday, and Monday Circuit City has a 50% off sale on selected HBO series. I picked up Season 4 of The Wire for $30. As is often the case at CC there was no signage in the store or many copies of anything on sale.

Thanks for the Round-Up! Just Stooges Vol 2 for me.

A heads up: Costco sent out their summer coupon book this week and in early June several Fox/MGM mega box sets are available for $120 (Ford at Fox, Complete Bond, United Artist 90th Anniversary, X Files, and Stargate).

Strike this. I won't be getting He-Man on Tuesday. The local BB had them out today, sans sale price or lithograph. Guess I'll be going in on Tuesday anyway! Posted Image

Dragon Tiger Gate on BD for me, although Grace is Gone is tempting (especially since my upconverting HD DVD player will probably give me a better picture than the crappy digital projection when I saw it at a festival last year). Really good performance by John Cusack.
