This, RoboCop and Halloween are the reasons I'm going neutral with Blu this month.

Three of my all time favorites (actually 5, 'cause Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead are up there too) are Blu exclusive, and I've become far too spoiled by HD to not enjoy these on the next format.

Wow. That's actually what I expect from a Fox-priced title. Time to go look for a good deal now.

Re: Edward Scissorhands -

I honestly don't care about MPEG2 vs. AVC. There have been plenty of MPEG2 encodes that look great (see the recent Hi-Def Digest review of A Few Good Men).

The 4.0 audio is what it has always had to my understanding. It would be nice to have the 4.0 lossless, but it isn't a deal breaker for me.

And as long as they port over the (minimal) extras from the DVD that's enough for me. As a catalog title, I wouldn't expect them to be making new bonus material.

Both SD releases of Edward Scissorhands only had 4.0 tracks, so I'm thinking that's either been requested by Burton/Elfman or it was released that way in theaters. It sucks about the extras, but the "10th Anniversary Edition" on SD was very light on the extras as well - there was a commentary, isolated score, featurette, and that was about it. Looks like a straight port of that release - not exactly worth $39.99.
