We get Resident Evil: Apocalypse but no Resident Evil. We get Underworld Evolution, but no Underworld...X-men 3 but no X-men (one or two). Who over at Sony can't get their head out of their ass and do these things proper?

I want Resident Evil!

First, X-Men is Fox, not Sony. Second, it sucks, but it's a big problem with both formats. In addition to your examples, HD DVD has Clerks II but no Clerks, they released Scorpion King before Mummy Returns, Chronicles of Riddick before Pitch Black, etc.

Sometimes it's marketing (for instance, there's a new Resident Evil hitting theaters this year that they're waiting for), or not owning the rights to the other films (such as the Terminator series), and other times it's just whatever floats through studio minds.

The only reason I can think of is because they're the more recent releases and fresher in everyone's mind? I've seen Underworld listed on the UK release lists, and I believe Fox said X1 & X2 were coming around summertime. Hopefully Resident Evil is coming as well. I still enjoyed Apocalypse though and I have to say it's PCM track may be the best I've heard so far.

I've got to trade cables between my A1 and Sammy, I've got to give these PCM tracks a try.

Didn't Lion's Gate release all three Saw movies this week? I understand the studios want the 'latest and greatest' on the shelf but releasing all of the movies in a series (though I understand that's not possible if you're talking about a long running series like James Bond or Friday The 13th) at the same time seems to be the best solution.

They just released Saw 2 and 3 this week. The first one was one of the original BD releases from back in June.

Ron, this is not a Sony only issue, on HD DVD, we have Harry Potter IV, but not I-III, Bourne Supremecy but not Bourne Identity, Sopranos Season 6 Part I, but no 1-5.

Yeah, I forgot about those, so it definitely seems like my "most recently remembered" theory may actually be true!

of course that is how they are doing it. I think it sucks but someone at marketing thinks it works. That is why HD-DVD has Smallville Season 5 and Sopranos Season 6 out but no sign of the first seasons.

I had Smallville 1 to 5 on SD and was not going to upgrade ONLY season 5. I guess I am not their target audience.
