Stupid question but its been so long I just dont remeber, I own a DD DTS reciever does my dvd player need to support DTS also even though I run optical from dvd to reciever?
In my personal experiance no. I have used DVD players that have no DTS logos on them or in their manuals that played the DTS tracks. I even have an old magnavox cd player from 1987 before DTS was even founded plays them via digital output. Just picture an old, ugly Magnavox cd player with a burnt up led display that has a larger aluminum fin style heatsink mounted on the back, playing a DTS-ES encoded CD, it's frickin hilarious.
