I'm not talking about doing it right, which apparently the major studios don't even bother doing as witnessed by Fox just taking the 20 year old tape transfers and putting them to DVD on Lost in Space. If rights could be licensed for a show, what would it cost to release a limited appeal show that might sell a couple of thousand copies. Could a small company, provided they could license these shows, not lose their shirts with a small pressing. I'm just curious as to if we will see more esoteric titles come out and if we'll get some independent labels popping up that will issue these things. I know from reading the board that many people here are looking for shows from the very recent past. I'm only interested in shows from the 60s mostly. The major studios will never release these short run, limited appeal shows but perhaps some independents will. Provided it could be done economically. That's why I'm asking if something like that would even be feasible.
