The individual COPS titles are: Caught In The Act, Bad Girls, & Shots Fired.

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including (or the ones Dave tells me he's looking for ;o)). In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. So, please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like Dave & I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii. Also note that I cannot include Wal-Mart prices in the standard Roundup: Wal-Mart sets prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is not a way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart location. When it comes to Wal-Mart prices mentioned at all, just remember that "Your Mileage May Vary".

**BE CAREFUL! Gothika AND Honey AND The Rundown AND Beyond Borders are all available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one(s).

--Amazon is still featuring free shipping on orders over $25. Restrictions apply.

--Best Buy is offering deals on Will and Grace season sets. Seasons 1 and 2 are each available for $34.99. However, if you buy both Seasons 1 & 2 you can save $15. $35 + $35 = $70. $70 - $15 = $55 (total cost). $55/2 = $27.50 each. Good deal! (Math computations brought to you courtesy of Frezon Lousy Math, Inc.)

--Circuit City’s got a deal on the Honey DVD. If you buy the Honey CD soundtrack WITH the DVD, save $3. “Purchase must be on same receipt. In-store only.”

--Circuit City also is giving out free “movie cash” with their copies of Splash: 20th Anniversary Edition. “Receive FREE movie cash for ‘The Ladykillers’ starring Tom Hanks. Up to $12 value. Valid 3/26/04 – 4/30/04.”

--Target is also offering a deal when you buy Gothika at their store (15.99). You can pick out a FREE DVD from the following titles: House on Haunted Hill, Creepshow, or City Hall. “Quantity limited. No rain checks. See Gothika for coupon.” I do NOT know if this is in-store or mail-in.

--Target flyer also advertises that Disney Sing-Along Songs DVD – “Home on the Range” also features a “FREE movie ticket offer to see Home on the Range. “Packaged together. Quantity limited. No rain checks.”

--K-Mart (which lists Gothika, The Rundown & Honey each for $19.99 in this week’s flyer) has a couple of promotions running. First, Get a “FREE Caribineer (sic) with the purchase of The Rundown on DVD.’ FYI, dictionary.com says a carabiner (not even close to the K-Mart spelling!) is “An oblong metal ring with a spring clip, used in mountaineering to attach a running rope to a piton or similar device.” That is what is pictured in the ad -- along with a built-in clock. “While supplies last”.

K-Mart is also offering a FREE DVD by mail when you purchase BOTH The Rundown AND Honey. “See package for details.” No word in the ad over what the FREE DVDs might be.

You guys don't know (well I guess now you willPosted Image) that you came thisclose to not getting a RoundUp from me this week.

I ended up in the hospital for a brief stay from early Thursday morning until late Saturday afternoon. Internet access in the hospital is extremely limited! Posted Image Nothing too serious. I will NOT bore you with any of the details. But, I will have to return soon for a minor "procedure". Its tough to get old.

Ditto on Meet Me in St. Louis, george!

As for this week, absolutely nothing of interest except maybe the Splash SE as an eventual purchase. I still need to catch up on previous weeks' releases like Schindler's List & Scooby Doo.

What is the Weezer thing? Does it collect all of their videos or something?

ChrisBEA: For the price for the new Ransom SE, it better be anamporphic. Amazon says it is.

DVD Features:
Commentary by director Ron Howard

Four deleted scenes

"What Would You Do?" new making-of featurette

"Between Takes" featurette

International Trailer

Widescreen anamorphic format

It's not just Circuit City doing this; the movie cash is inside the DVD and should be available anywhere. (My copy of Splash that I got last week, and did NOT come from CC, has it inside, with a sticker on the wrapper saying it is enclosed.) Also, the NON-ANAMORPHIC Ransom also has the moviecash enclosed.

I was reading a thread at DVDtalk that said that Ransom wasn't anamorphic. Someone said they had the disk in hand and confirmed it wasn't....

Thanks for that info, Jimmy!

This review also supports the non-anamorphic transfer of Ransom. Too bad...for a lot of reasons...but especially for the price of the release. And according to this review at IGN the specs of the release DO say anamorphic widescreen, it just....isn't. Posted Image

Mike thanks for the roundup, hope your doing ok.

Nothing for me this week, I won a copy of the Rundown and thus don't feel compelled to purchase it, and the Beyond the Mat disc while sounding cool isn't that big of an upgrade over the 1 I bought just last October. I'm glad next week is pretty light also I can get caught up on older titles that I need.
