Some notes on the movies listed in the grid:

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride is also listed in several locations as The Wind In the Willows. It is the 1996 effort which features many members of Monty Python (Idle, Cleese, Palin, etc). It is unclear to me under which name the DVD will be marketed.

El Otro Lado de la Cama is Spanish for The Other Side of the Bed. It, too, is listed both ways.

Barbie Fantasy Tales includes: The Nutcracker / Rapunzel / Swan Lake.

Bernie Mac: Season 1 is NOT listed in the grid even though several web sites (including Best Buy & Circuit City) are showing prices and a release date of March 2. TVShowsonDVD.com is reporting a May 4 release date.

Also not listed on the grid are “Greatest Hit” compilation DVDs for Abba, the Carpenters, and the Cure. I cannot find any information for them except they are all given a release date of March 2 and are fairly expensive. $40 - $60. They seem to be similar to prior releases which are much less expensive. If anyone wants to check these out, start your search at amazon.com or circuitcity.com.

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including (or the ones Dave tells me he's looking for ;o)). In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. Look, Dave has a lovely wife and a five-year-old son that he is spending time with. So, please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like Dave does!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii. Also note that I cannot include Wal-Mart prices in the standard Roundup: Wal-Mart sets prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is not a way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart location. When it comes to Wal-Mart prices mentioned at all, just remember that "Your Mileage May Vary".

**BE CAREFUL! Looney Tunes: Back In Action AND School of Rock are available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one. Good Boy! is NOT included in the RoundUp because it is MAR only.

--Amazon is still featuring free shipping on orders over $25. Restrictions apply.

--Amazon.com is also featuring a two-fer deal on School of Rock (WS) ($20.99) and Tenacious-D: The Complete Masterworks DVD (14.99). Buy them both for $32.98 -- $3 off Amazon’s price.

--There are some great Fox films listed below which are having their prices reduced this week!

--Best Buy and Circuit City are both selling two-packs of In This World and The Other Side of the Bed for $34.99

--Best Buy has a deal that if you buy both Cold Creek Manor and Duplex ($19.99 each) on the same receipt you can get them both for $30.

--Best Buy brings back the “Bonus Interactive DVD” on Looney Tunes: Back In Action. Said to feature Looney Tunes Rabbit Season/Duck Season. Minimum 8 per store. No rainchecks.

--Best Buy is also featuring DVDs of School Rocks which include a guitar pick and Temporary tattoo inside. Minimum 30 per store. No rainchecks.

--On Stargate SG-1 season sets, Best Buy is doing one of its usual “save through volume purchase” deals. All six seasons can be purchased individually for $49.99. However, if you buy any two season sets, you will save $15. Two sets = $84.98 (for an average of 42.49 per set). Or, if you buy ALL SIX season sets, you will save $55. Six sets = $244.94 (for an average of $40.82 per set). This note brought to you courtesy of Frezon’s Lousy Math Service, Inc.

--K-Mart continues its underwhelming approach to new release week by advertising School of Rock, Looney Tunes: Back In Action & Cold Creek Manor ALL at $19.99

--Circuit City says you can save $5 via mail-in rebate if you buy BOTH Cold Creek Manor ($15.99) AND Duplex ($19.99). That’s $30.98 for both. If you subtract $2.50 from each DVD, Cold Creek Manor costs $13.49 and Duplex $17.49.

--Circuit City is also offering a FREE DVD “Sampler Disc” called MGM’s Award-Winning Moments with the purchase of any of the following DVDs: Fiddler on the Roof, Leaving Las Vegas, Platoon, Dead Man Walking, The Silence of the Lambs, The Usual Suspects, or Rain Man SE ($12.99 each). Or, West Side Story (single disc), Rocky, Annie Hall, Moonstruck, In the Heat of the Night, or A Fish Called Wanda ($8.99 each).

Thanks for Roundup Mike!

Looks like School of Rock for me.

If I can scrape the $$$ together I will look at getting Stargate Season 6 and Starsky & Hutch (really want this one).

Don't forget my guess is that Costco will have Stargate Season 6 for $39.99 like they have been doing for all the other seasons. BJs will most likely be $41.99 as they have been doing as well.

Thanks for the round-up. Probably only Gnome-Mobile for me this week. I assume that the Chaplin titles have the same PAL speed-up issues as the last batch, so I'll stick with my previous versions of the ones I want.

I haven't seen School of Rock, but I like Jack Black. Don't know whether to pull the trigger on this one. Help!

At least they're cutting us a break here on the price ($15.99 @ BB). Seems like one of the few new release movies in the last couple months selling for less than $19.99!

School of Rock is like all Jack Black all the time... well, not totally, but it's completely built around his persona and his interest in classic rock a la Zeppelin, Doors, Who, etc. Fun movie.

THIS really upsets me, especially Without a Clue.

At FYE stores, School of Rock is $9.99 after $10 rebate and looney Tunes back in Action is $14.99 ($5 rebate). Don't see these on their website but they had these and a few others on a poster at the store. I remember also Schindler's List but not sure of the price.

FYI, in my area (southern New Hampshire), Best Buy lists "Runaway Jury" in their ad for $15.99. So, for anyone (like me) who hasn't picked it up yet, this may be a good price.

Other than that, nothing for me at B&M's this week.

Thanks for the roundup!
